United States Fishing Reports

hey everyone, what a day on the water! went out around 6 am with my buddy to Point Defiance. it was cloudy but not too cold, about 17°C. we hit a few spots with some jigs and spinners. ended up landing 5 nice rockfish and a couple of decent flounders! the wind picked up a bit later, pushing 19 km/h but we managed. gotta say, my new tackle setup really made a difference - that shimano reel is smooth like butter. sunshine came out right before we wrapped up around 6 pm, perfect way to end the day. can't wait to go again next weekend. tight lines!

June 18th, 2025 folks. man, what a foggy day on the water today! got out real early, around 5am with my buddy Tom. the visibility was like 15ft max, so we were just drifting along with the current. we targeted some catfish - had a solid plan with our heavy-duty rods and cut bait. temps were nice, hovering in the mid-70s, but dang that wind picked up around 11am, made things tricky. we ended up catching 4 decent cats, biggest one around 8lbs! we were pumped! couldn’t see the other boats but definitely heard ‘em out there. ended the day watching the sunset at 9, feeling pretty good. can’t wait for the next trip!

yo! just got back from bitterroot today, sun was out and it was pretty nice around 19C. hit the water at sunrise, which is always worth it!! started off with some spinners but switched to a nymph later on. the trout were biting like crazy near the rocks, got a couple nice rainbows around 14 inches. the wind kicked up a bit but it wasn't too bad. was out there for a solid 6 hours, the scenery was amazing. hooked one big one but lost it near the bank, total bummer! overall a good day, can't wait to go back. tight lines!

hey yall, fished at the river today. it was super misty and kinda chilly but we were determined. started around 6 am, used my trusty old spinning reel with some finesse worms. got 3 nice channel cats – biggest was def a 5 pounder! 🎣 oh and the wind picked up later so had to adjust my castin’. overall a sweet morning, not too many people around either, which was a plus. went home stoked!

fished at Allatoona today, what a ride! started early around sunrise, was a bit thundery but not too bad. temp was nice, felt great overall. caught 5 nice crappie, biggest was about a pound. used minnows on a bobber, they were goin after it like crazy. wind picked up a bit later but I was on a roll! fished till sunset and boy that view was just stunning! totally worth it. hopefully get back out this week, cheers!

fished at port clinton early this morning, mist hanging over the water made it kinda eerie but beautiful at the same time. started around 6am, using my trusty old spinning reel with a crankbait. had a couple bites but no hookups for a while, i was starting to get a lil discouraged. then BAM! outta nowhere a big ol' pike struck! fought it for a good 10 mins, felt like forever. ended up being about 28 inches, got a pic before releasing it back. got a few smaller perch as well, but that pike made my day. water was chilly but with the cool breeze, it felt great. totally recommend going out early like that, way less crowded and so peaceful. sunsets are cool, but sunrise fishing is where it's at!

hit rancho seco today, man what a day! sunny and nice out, temp was perfect at 22°c around noon. got there real early for the sunrise at 5:42, just me and my buddy. we brought our spinning rods, 6'6 medium action with 10lb test. used some jigs and minnows. lol we were trying to catch anything but ended up with 5 catfish, biggest was a good 5lbs! fought like a champ. wind picked up a bit later, around 21km/h but it didn't ruin our vibe. there's just something about fishing on a sunny day with friends! definitely gonna go back next week, maybe try for some bass next time. peace out, y'all!

fished south holston this mornin, woke up early and it was super foggy out there. started around 6:30, water temp was nice at 23.5°c. caught a couple of nice rainbows, like 2-3 pounds each, just using a simple powerbait setup. had my favorite spinning rod, really light action. the wind picked up a bit later, but it was chill. i love the fog, makes everything feel kinda magical and the fish were biting great. ended the day with a few more bites than expected, felt really good! can't wait to go back soon 😊
