~~Trip Update 08.12.2015

 Good evening friends.  Today was our final day to get some lines in the water. After last night, we weren't sure what kind of time we were going to have to fish. It was a tiny bit bumpy to say the least.  Well, it wouldn't be a long range trip without a little bit of choppy seas, at least it wasn't til the last night of the trip. All and all, we had great weather during all of of our fishing time.  We did however make it to where we wanted to be about 1030 am and kicked the anchor over the side to use up hat bit we had left.  It actually turned out to be a pretty bust late morning. Not long after we dropped the pick, the yellows came up showing their presence right away. If you wanted your fix on tails for the trip, this morning was the time.  It was still tthat great 16-22 lb grade that we saw down south. Not at all a great wway to end a pretty darn good trip.   It got to be time to point her toward San Diego and get everyone home to see their families. Time to break down the tackle, scrub the boat and finish the trip with all of the fishing stories that have happened over the last 5 days.

Another day of going toe to toe with Mike Tyson. When our corner finally threw in the towel we had 2 bluefin (135 & 85 lbs) and 4 yellowfin (25-30 lbs). If you do not own a 2 speed reel you can rent one from our landing before the trip.

Fun fishing out here! Kelp patty yellowtail, 20-30 lb bluefin and yellowfin tuna! 

We have even had some chances at bigger tuna in the 50-80 lb class.

87 yellowfin 4 skipjack. A couple lucky stops made our day. Highly recommend having a 20lb rod with size 2 hooks and matching flouro.

Good evening sports fans from the bridge of the Supreme. Today was yet another day off shore. We were busy all day long bendo on tuna mostly  jumping from bird school to bird school with quite a bit of fish on the machines too. Chapparo's group always brings it every year when it comes to putting in time at the rail, even when Chef Mike nearly puts us to sleep with his thick juicy cheese burgers and homemade fries for lunch. Nobody wimped and took a nap after that big plate of food, we were all right back at it keeping the rods bent. That really sums up the day, exceptional tuna fishing and a tasty half pound rosemary chicken dinner with rice, green beans and stuffing topped with whole gralic cloves followed by bannana foster for dessert. All and all great day, beautiful weather and we hope the weather mans forecast stays true for good weather for the next 2 days. Til tomorrow friends, good night to all, and to all a good night.

Today we had a great day of Wahoo fishing. The Wahoo were big and very eager when we got on them. The only thing that stopped the bite was the sun going down. Hopefully we can pick up right where we left off tomorrow. Pictured we have Joel with a slug of a Wahoo and a group shot from one of our many stops today, We also would like to wish Georgia Robbie a happy birthday! Today was a travel day for us on-board the Supreme. Well, it was a half-travel, half-fishing day. We completed our seminars after breakfast and once the seminar wrapped up, chartermaster Joe Gigliotti handed out the goods. Everybody received various t-shirts from Accurate Reels, Five-Star Fish Processing, and Magnaflow Exhaust Systems, and everyone also received various jigs, line, and other tackle items. The big winners of the raffle were Steven Lowe, who won an Accurate reel and Charles Tasselli, who won a Calstar rod. Congrats to Steven and Charles and a big thank you to Joe for hooking us up with not only a bunch of Accurate gear for everyone to try out but for the gifts as well.

Anyhow, in our travels we managed to catch a few handfuls of really nice dorado for the galley and the gang also threw a few tags on them as well. We also caught a few tuna for the galley but most of what we caught was released to fight another day. Other than that, it was just a day of closing the distance from point "A" to point "B". We'll be to point "B" sometime in the morning and we'll see what we can do with a good load of bait, a veteran group of anglers, and some good weather ... for now.

We're currently monitoring Tropical Storm Paul and his whereabouts and we'll base our decisions on what his path decides to be. We'll take things one day at a time. With that, we say good night and we'll hit you up tomorrow.
