bay Fishing Report 2025

"The bluefin are still biting," said Mike Pritchard. "It's 8:30 in the morning and we have outstanding Bluefin fishing. It looks like everybody in this area is doing very well on the Bluefin. It's a good time to hop on a boat."

OK tired of boat work! Need a little motivation To go out fishing on The Polaris Supreme? We have a 6 Day trip coming up in 2 weeks and it still has 7 openings on it! SUNDAY JUNE 25th. We will be targeting the 50 to 300lb Bluefin that are 10 to 100 miles just out side San Diego as well as all the other usual species. The following pictures are from Rick Maxa (AKA Rock Cod Rick) Of Lets Talk Hook Up Fame. These Bluefin Where all caught by Rick and his Buddy's , some as close as 9 miles. THEY WHERE NOT CAUGHT ON THE POLARIS SUPREME! THAT'S WHY WE NEED YOU ON OUR FIRST TRIP ON THE 25TH! OK now do you want to go fishing! 6 days too long? Mike Pritchard called in this morning with this report for the Tribute. "We've had a very nice start here this moring. A couple of kelps have been absolutely fantastic. Great Yellowtail fishing to go along with some Yellowfin and Dorado. We caught 160 Yellowtail out of 2 drifts. A lot of the fish were caught on surface irons, swimbait and even poppers.

"We are now targeting some tuna or maybe some Dorado. We'll keep you informed."

Looks like we're going to have a light load for tomorrow's trip. I just talked to a boat out on the ocean right now and they said the weather is good. The large swell is very spread out making the ocean conditions nice. Myself and the crew will be heading out tonight for live squid. Call Seaforth at 619-224-3383 for reservations !

Fish report for the first week of October. Anybody who has spent any amount of time in San Diego knows that October is a great month to fish and this October has been no exception. Limit style yellowtail fishing has been the norm rather than the exception this week. On Saturday we stopped on a kelp first thing in the morning and caught 250 yellows and left them biting. On days like Saturday when we catch a lot of fish in the morning our 35 degree refrigerated fish hold is really nice. Along with the great yellowtail fishing we have also had a sprinkling of 20 lb. dorado 25 lb. bluefin tuna and 20 lb. yellowfin tuna in the mix. All in all I would say we are having great fishing with no end in sight. Reservations are very important this time of year so if you plan to come fishing call 619-224-3383.

Captain Tucker McCombs called in this afternoon with a wrap-up from the Endeavor out of Hook's Landing in Oxnard, CA. We had limits of Seabass today in the 15 to 25 pound class. The fish were biting pretty good today. We are booked up throughout the weekend but we have plenty of room next week.

Good fishing and good weather continues! 65 yellowfin tuna 5 bluefin tuna for our charter group !

Hi friends. We woke up today to a lovely Sunday brunch complete with Belgium waffles, bacon, eggs, and bloody mary's. I didn't have any. Sad face. After brunch, we were treated to all of nature's glory with rain, lightning, and thunder. Some of the strikes were less than a mile from us. Amazing. Anyhow, after a carne asada taco lunch and more cocktails that I didn't have, we made it to the fishing grounds and enjoyed a couple of drifts on a beautiful grade of yellows up to twenty-five pounds. They were biting that yo-yo jig real nice but our bite was short lived. After the sun had set, we sat down to a prime rib dinner and lots of red wine that I didn't have and we finished off with pecan pie and ice cream. I had some.

So that was our day in a nutshell. Hopefully the fish aren't as crabby tomorrow and we can get down to business. Wish us luck and we'll hit you up on Monday night. Peace out, homies.
