Australia Fishing Reports

hey guys, hit up tweed heads today, it was super overcast and kinda chilly around 16.6° but felt good on the water. got out around 7am after sunrise and the wind was real calm, only about 8km/h. started with a couple of whiting on prawns, nothing too big but enough for a good fight. then switched to some soft plastics, and boom – hooked a decent flathead! was stoked. ended up with 4 flathead and a handful of whiting. all released to fight another day! heading back tomorrow if the weather stays like this. tight lines!

went fishing today at the south coast near Sydney, what a day! the sun was shining bright, and the weather was perfect, about 13 degrees. we arrived just after sunrise, around 7am, and set up with some light gear - 10lb line and my trusty shimano rod. didn't take long to get our first bites, a few whiting and a solid flathead! kept at it for a few hours, battling a little wind but it was manageable. ended up with 6 fish total, all released back to the water. even saw a dolphin swimming by, super cool! overall, just a great day out on the water with mates. planning to go again next weekend, can't wait!

what a day out on the water! June 15 was perfect, sunny skies and not too windy, felt nice at around 15°C. got to the Brisbane river about 7am and set up with my trusty Shimano reel and some live shrimp. it didn’t take long before I hooked into a 50cm flathead, was pretty stoked! after that, I released a few smaller ones around 30cm. the bites were steady all morning, even got a couple of nice bream too. packed up around noon and headed home, can’t wait to hit it again next weekend!

went out to tweed this morning, cloudy skies and a bit chilly at 14 degrees. caught a couple of flathead, around 50cm each. used a 1/4 oz jig head with a soft plastic swimbait, seemed to do the trick. the wind wasn’t too bad, only about 14 km/h, so it was nice not getting blown around. i was out there from sunrise, around 6:35, till about 1pm. the bite was decent in the shallows near the mangroves. had a couple of great runs but lost a few at the boat. overall, good day out on the water, can’t wait to go back!

hey everyone, just got back from a chilly morning at the Yarra. it was super overcast, temp was around 9C but I had a blast. got there just after sunrise at 7:34, did some casting with my new spinning rod – a Shimano Stradic, really smooth. managed to land a couple of nice trout, around 2.5lbs each. used some worms because they were really biting today. the wind picked up a bit around 10, but the fish didn't mind. for a cold day, it turned out to be pretty awesome. can't wait to go back!

hey everyone! went fishing in the snowy mountains near canberra today and wow, what a beautiful sunny day it was! woke up early, around 6, and got to the spot just in time for sunrise. the water was super calm but pretty cold, like only 5 degrees outside. i brought my trusty spinning rod with a light line and some small spinners. fished for about 4 hours and caught 4 rainbow trout, all around 2lbs. they were biting like crazy! even saw a couple of guys up the creek who weren't having much luck. all in all, a great day on the water despite the chilly air. can’t wait to hit it again soon!

hit the river this arvo, really nice sunny day. water was pretty clear, but got some wind around 15 k's so it was a bit tricky. i was using my trusty spinning outfit with a light rod and a 10lb braid. caught 5 decent flathead, biggest was around 60cm. used a soft plastic in a natural colour, they were hitting like crazy! also saw some surface action, thought about switching to a popper but ended up sticking with the plastics. packed it in just before sunset, all in all a solid day out on the water, can't complain. definitely going back soon!

fished at eildon today, what a day! sunny and nice, got there early around 8am. water temp was chilly but the fish were active. used my old trusty soft plastics in a green pumpkin color, and wow did they work! caught 5 nice trout, biggest was about 2.5 kg. the wind was pretty calm, just a light breeze. made it so much better being out there. hooked into a couple more but lost em at the boat, so annoying haha. the vibe was super chill, just me and the birds. stayed till sunset, can't wait to go back and do it all over again!
