had a chill day fishing on the river today, it was cloudy but cool. caught a few pike and some sunfish, used some spinners. not a bad day at all. love this river, it’s always peaceful, even with the clouds!
yesterday was a total washout with the rain, but went anyway. caught 2 trout, not big but fun! used a fly rod with some nymphs, they were biting when the rain stopped! i love the platte even when it’s wet!
oh man today was rough! heavy rain and windy, my gear was soaked. i did catch one decent catfish, but it took forever! used worms on a bobber, but seriously thinking about staying home next time it rains this much.
tried to fish today but it was drizzling on and off... managed to catch just 2 little bass. didn’t have much luck but hey, it’s fishing! i was using a topwater lure, maybe next time will be better.
sunny day at the platte! just me and my dog, it was perfect. I started around 6 am and fished till noon. caught 5 pike, biggest one was about 5lbs! used a crankbait, they were hitting hard. feelin' great, what a day!
