cowlitz river Fishing Report 2024

Well what the heck! I just went to go get some pictures to post on our wrap up of Tom Chaparros six-day trip! Yes that's right it was a six-day trip not a five! And next year it is going to be a seven-day trip! If you care to join Tom and his gang give Susan a call! He limits his trip to only 18 anglers. Anyways I went to go get some pictures out of our files and all we had was pizza! And then I realized the only slow day of fishing we had out of six days was the day we made pizza! Thus the only day we had time to take pictures! We were too busy gaffing 18 to 22 pound average yellowtail and or 15 To 16 pound average yellowfin tuna! Our fishing was absolutely fantastic. The yellowtail fishing was excellent surface iron and fly line sardine as well was the yellowfin tuna fishing. A iron throwers paradise. One thing I should point out about Tom's trip as well as every trip we've had so far this year is that our weather has been absolutely superb! I think maybe we've only had two choppy days in the last 33. Tom Chaparros seven day trip next year 2018 will be departing on Wednesday August 1 and arriving Wednesday, August 8. After getting to see what great fishing we could get into stretching the trip 1 day and seeing some of the other boats on longer trips getting a shot at the Wahoo it got everyone to want to extend the trip. Hello gang, Well we just finished up our first few days of maintenance. On Monday January 7th we will have our annual Coast Guard inspection. As of right now I plan to be shut down till the end of the month. Sometime around the 1st of February we will resume fishing. I will keep you posted. Capt. Ryan Bostian

We departed yesterday on the annual Jeff Hall 5-day trip yesterday and pointed it straight for Cedros. We arrived this afternoon and our first anchor job produced about an hour of yellowtail fishing before the bite sizzled away. Checked a couple other spots for not very much before it got dark. We're going to stay the night and spend a full day here tomorrow and take it from there.

Nothing beats some fresh fish on a Friday evening! Seared Ahi Tuna atop a bed of rice. ?

07-13-2013 Polaris Supreme Trip Update.

Wow What a great trip Drew and the boys had with Joe and Mal's gang. Good going guys! That was one of the most impresive catches of 40 to 50 pound Bluefin I have seen in a while. Oh ya thanks a lot for putting the pressure on us to produce more of the same for Billy Stephens Group. Just kidding we are looking forward to the challenge. The reports from the four boats in our group that fished the morning sounded just like the schoole Drew and the gang left bitting. It was full speed all morning. I don't think any of us are going to sleep well tonight. May be if we count Bluefin coming over the rail thet will help, or not. Going down for prime rib. sea ya tomorrow.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this afternoon with an audio update from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA.  

We have a light load on a 2 day trip with 21 anglers. So far we have 30 Yellowtail & 54 Yellowfin Tuna (good grade 20 + pounds) on the boat.

We have some open party trips coming up.  Call Seaforth at (619 224-3383 to get in on the action!

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-03-2016 Today was departure day for our Simpatico five day charter with Vernon Burke as our charter head. We got off early without a hitch and picked up some nice bait at the bait receivers. We should make the fishing grounds by 6 PM this afternoon and be able to fish a hour and a half and before dark. We will probably be fishing the large grade Bluefin this trip that is out west of San Diego. This grade of fish is a beautiful size it is 50 to 100 pounds most of it right around 80. This should really test our anglers fishing skills. Wish us luck the Polaris supreme crew.
