cowlitz river Fishing Report 2024

We got limits of Dorado and 90 Yellowfin Tuna for our 21 anglers.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today we had 23 passengers catch 29 Bonito (8 to 10 pound class), 26 Lingcod and 85 Rockfish.

Hello everyone, Today we had an exciting day of catching Bluefin Tuna and BIG Yellowtail. The Yellowtail mainly came on big Greenback Mackerel we caught ourselves. They were bruisers, once you were bit you had to pull as hard as you could to get them out of the rocks. We had many casualties but the fish we landed were very large. We are looking to try again for these Yellowtail tomorrow before looking offshore for a bigger grade of tuna. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Today we were able to try our hand at Yellowtail. Fishing was far from easy.The Yellows ranged in size with some waves of fish being 8-12 lbs and other groups coming through in the 20 to 30 lb range. We did manage to set most of the smaller ones free and tag the bigger ones. Exciting day, but had to work for the larger fish. Will report tomorrow, Team Supreme

Hopefully this wahoo from the last trip is a good sign of what is to come on our next trip depending tomorrow. A seven day wahoo specific adventure!

Hey guys, after two weeks of fishing for yellowtail in U.S. waters, we have now decided to head back down to the Coronado Islands. We have still been seeing plenty of yellows in the local waters but they just have not got with it like we wanted them to. Yellowtail have been spotted from the rockpile to Catalina island over the past week. I honestly feel that the Coronado Islands is going to be our best bet at finding some yellowtail that want to bite well. Our first trip to the islands is tomorrow, Friday 27th. 170 yellowfin 93 skipjack. Good weather and great fishing, didn’t feel like November today.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in this morning with an update form the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. The boat is out today we haven’t heard from them yet. We caught 4 Bluefin Tuna over 100 pounds. This is once in a lifetime opportunity. We only have a handful of reservations for tomorrow. We are a definite go! Please be sure to be prepared with a heavy rod. We recommend at least a 50 pound outfit. You can also bring a lighter outfit for the Yellowtail. Listen to the audio for all tackle details.
