Good evening everyone, Today we rolled up the beach on our last day of our A.H.I 8 day trip. The charter masters put together an amazing award ceremony with shirts, prizes, and trophies. This was the perfect way to end the trip along with a very nice dinner from chef Mike. Talk about next years trip was already in progress, and these anglers cant't wait to be back. Next year will mark their 25th A.H.I charter. This just goes to show the groups organization and passion for being on the water. This was a very well rounded trip with everything you could ask for, great weather, good fishing and most importantly, everyone had a great time with us. Good evening everyone, Just finished up a tough day here tuna fishing. Conditions really changed for the worse. With no reason behind it, the fish simply moved out. However this is not a problem, we have simply reverted back to search mode. With everyone spread far and wide trying to cover the vast ocean, we are bound to find something soon. However this does conclude our trip. We would like to thank LETS TALK HOOK UP! for putting on this four day and look forward to next year!  We missed again this morning folks.  I'm not very happy about it, but I've excepted it.  We've definitely put in our work this trip.  Not necessarily physically these last couple days but mentally for sure.  I am drained.  We didn't want to spend another afternoon like we spent yesterday so we left the grounds and fished the Coronado Islands this afternoon.  We didn't see much yellowtail.  Myself or the other long range boat here.  I heard some good analogies this trip by other captains on the radio that I'd like to share.  Looking at the fish reports is like watching sports center.  They keep showing you all the top tens, but they almost never show the other Joe's, and sometimes you're the bug, and sometimes you're the windshield.  Most guys the last couple days have been the bugs.

 There have been quite a few firsts for me lately.  First of all I've never spent this much time fishing this close to home other than my 3/4 day days..  I have never been anchored up right outside the harbor on the second night of the trip.  We were there catching bait.  I've never captained the boat to San Clemente or the Coronado Islands.  There's probably more.  Oh yeah, I've never seen the 5 freeway from the boat.  Mark thought it was a bird school.  In his defense, I had to give it a double take too.

 So that's it.  We're going home and we'll be leaving for 5 tomorrow.  Tommy is coming back out so he'll be deciding where to go.  I'll tell you though, it's tough to pass on this fish.  Unfortunately for us, it's the best grade of tuna around.  It's great for the 1/2 day boats though.
       

Captain Alyar called in this morning with a wrap-up report from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. We ended our trip with 22 Bluefin Tuna, 41 Yellowtail and 6 Dorado.

We do have a 1.5 day trip departing Sunday night. We have a very light load and are a definite go. Call Seaforth or BOOK ONLINE.

Be sure to bring 20, 25 and 30 pound floor and small hooks. The Bluefin we caught today were between 15 and 40 pounds.

Mike Pritchard called in this morning with this report for the Tribute. "We've had a very nice start here this moring. A couple of kelps have been absolutely fantastic. Great Yellowtail fishing to go along with some Yellowfin and Dorado. We caught 160 Yellowtail out of 2 drifts. A lot of the fish were caught on surface irons, swimbait and even poppers.

"We are now targeting some tuna or maybe some Dorado. We'll keep you informed."

We have a 1.5 day trip this weekend aboard the new boat Pride. Berkley,Penn, and other companies will be on the boat with raffles and giveaways for each passenger. Hi Gang

There are now an even 50 of you on this update list plus 8 of our P.R. guys. Hopefully I will have it figured out so I can also send it from the boat starting next Friday when I get back on. It will be a different email address and going through the Sat phone address, so don't send me large files to the boat. Anyways, lets get at it.

Yesterday only one boat remained in the hot area in some pretty crappy weather, and to his credit he kicked the heck out of the bluefin and yellowfin. Equal scores of limits for each. Drew will be there early afternoon. The weather is beautiful again. And as we know these tunas REALLY want to bite when the weather lays down. I'll send you out an update when I talk to him this afternoon. Hope you're having a fun Sunday.
