Caught 9. Good fun 

SUMMERTIME CONDITIONS ! Hey guys. Two days ago the water at the Coronado Islands was hovering right around 60 degrees and the fishing was slow. Conditions started improving rapidly yesterday afternoon and subsequently so did the fishing. Today we went out with 43 anglers and captured 25 calico bass 58 barracuda and full Mexican limits of sandbass. While we did not manage to catch any yellowtail today, we did however enjoy steady action from start to finish. I took a photo of our temp gauge for all you yellowtail hunters out there. With water temperatures like this. It won't be long before the yellows get back on the bite. Be here the day it happens, not the day after !

A fun action filled day today. We were offshore fishing tuna and yellowtails on kelps. Plenty of tuna sign but they were like they've been, reluctant to bite. We managed to land a couple per rod. The yellows on kelps produced better results. Good fishing on some 10-14 pounders, mostly 15-25 pounders. Again, the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We're going to be fishing Cedros Island tomorrow for those jumbo yellows.

The apollo is running a two day charter this weekend and needs two people. The trip is limited to only 20 people and departs on Thurs. night at 9pm and returns on Sat. night around 7pm. The day started up very well for us. It was good scratching up until just after lunch and fishing took a dump. We looked around the Island for a bit and after making a few stops for a few more fish we took off from there and are now heading west to the big Island. We have a great catch of jumbo yellowtails on board and we're hoping to get some jackpot settling trophy size yellowfin tomorrow. Portuguese style yellowtail for dinner tonight. We had it last trip for the first time and I must say it was by far the best yellowtail I have ever eaten in my life.
