upper red lake Fishing Report 2024

We had an absolutely wonderful day fishing today. We had the most flat calm weather and the tuna fishing was as good as it gets. It was all offshore on sonar schools and meter marks. The fish were all 20-32 lbs. and few bigger. It was a good day to be on the water.

Hello everyone, Today we weeded through a lot of small Yellowfin Tuna for a few premium models, from 20-40 lbs! It was tough weeding through the little ones to get to the keeper tuna. There was some nice Snowy Grouper mixed in as well. A nice Tuna/Grouper combo. We decided to head offshore around lunch time in search of kelp patties. We found one kelp that was absolute chaos. It was as fast as you could catch for a while. A beautiful Dorado bite to get everyone fired up. A few lucky anglers were lucky enough to catch some Wahoo on the kelp as well.  Good evening everyone and happy Halloween.  Things didn't fair too well for us this morning at last weekends hot tuna spot.  You can tell it was a week closer to November because there were only 4 of us there compared to 15 of us there last week.  Anyways, like I said, things didn't fair too well for us there.  That doesn't mean the tuna weren't there though.  At least one of the boats there did well today.  We didn't have the patience for it today though.  At least not for the veal grade, so we took off at lunch time.  We took off in search of dorado.  And wouldn't you know it, things worked out.  We found three productive kelps this afternoon.  The last kelp almost being a fixer upper.  So it worked out.  We had a good day.  130+ fish day.  That'll do.

 So we'll be in for the week, and we're going to come back out here again next Friday.  We're going to bring along with us the Inside Sportfishing crew.  They want to do an episode so if that sounds like something you may be interested in, we'd love to have you.  And then after that we leave on a 10 day.  So if that sounds like something you may be interested in, we loved to have you then as well.

What's good, people. There are two kinds of Sinclairs in this world, Upton and Matthew. We had both today. Our fishing was Upton Sinclair-style, real good, and we have Matthew Sinclair and his mustache to help us on deck this trip. We caught all of the major species today and we even got our bronze on. First of the season! You farmers and your tans were no match for the Baja sun that we soaked up today. It was hot and flat out here, check the pictures if you don't believe me. Polaris Supreme. Come to think of it, ever since I took my shirt off, the fish wouldn't stop jumping into the boat until I buttoned her back up at days end. Ouch. Anyhow, awesome fishing at the Ridge today and just when we thought it was all said and done, Tommy "Black Eyes" Miles found a kelp at five miles that kicked out all the flatheads we could handle. Never underestimate the blackhawk and his powerful vision. Oh yeah baby, I done told y'all once to get on our level and I don't like to repeat myself. Ronny and the boys are so pumped right now. Big yellowfin, big bluefin, small yellowfin, small bluefin, big dorado, small dorado, big yellowtail, and small yellowtail. Oh yeah, we even hooked a really nice striped marlin today too. Abbey Wombat (the U.S. womens soccer star) couldn't be more proud of us right now. God Bless America.

So what's the plan for tomorrow? I don't know, I'm just a deckhand but I'll ask the skipper ... skipper says it's a secret. Intriguing. We'll report back tomorrow.

The season's fourth 300-pound tuna arrived November 29 aboard Polaris Supreme with owner-skipper Tom Rothery at the helm as the 90-footer docked at Fisherman's Landing. The trip was 13 days for the boat and ten for the anglers who flew home from Cabo, and was sponsored by Rothery's partner Tom Pfleger, who heads PIER (Pfleger Institute of Environmental Research). A small group of 14 anglers including Pfleger was aboard.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-09-2016 Hello and good evening fisherman. Its not just a tough day for the Polaris Supreme but its a tough day for the fleet. We started our morning by slowly picking away at the yellowtail. It wasn't just tough to get bit but it was even harder to keep your fish from going into the nasty rocks. We then decided to switch to plan B and explore some uncharted waters for the rest of our day. We ended up bring aboard a handful of small yellowtail and dorado. We are now heading to an area where we will be targeting white seabass and premium sized yellowtail. We should be arriving there a few hours before gray light. Tight lines, Team Supreme

Good morning everyone, Today started out slow. A slight wind and a racing current made it it difficult to fish in the early morning. However by around seven o clock a switch turned on and the yellows wanted to chew. The sea came alive with eager mossbacks. Eating everything but really keying in on the surface action. The fly line sardine and surface iron really were the super stars today. We were really able to pick off these yellowtail as they made their rounds crashing around the boat. We stayed busy all morning until lunch time when we had to pull it and head north. What a great half day of fishing! Really makes you appreciate days like today when it all comes together and everyone is able to catch fish. Will report again tomorrow, Team supreme
