sauk lake Fishing Report 2025

Capt Ryan Bostain from the San Diego 3/4 day trip called in with a trip report from todays trip. They decided to head west from the Coronado Islands in search of some offshore fish, with the report of the tuna racing up the coast. We started they day with a stop on some really nice grade Bonito from 5 to 10 pounds and left them biting after we had 55 on the deck. We some mixed schools of Yellowfin and Bluefin and ended the day with 20 Bluefin and 36 Yellowfin that were all between 10 and 35 pounds. We had mostly beginner anglers on the boat today, very few had ever fished offshore before. We will be heading back out there tomorrow and until they go away. You will need a 20 pound bait rods, today they we biting 20-40-50-60 and even 80 pound line. If you come out with us the perfect setup will be a live bait from 20-40 pound set up, some size 2 and 2/0 hooks for either the Anchovies or Sardines. Come on down and get in on the action.

Choppy seas turned into a flat beautiful ocean. We think the fish liked it as much as we did. 76 yellowfin 75 skipjack for our 38 passengers.

Happy Easter! I have decided to put some ultra limited load open party trips together for fishing the northern Channel Islands this weekend. I have set up two trips on Saturday and Sunday the 10th and 11th of April. I anticipate trying to find sea bass in the morning and falling back on rock fish and ling cod for the rest of the day. These trips will be limited to only 20 people max!! This just seems to me to be such a great opportunity to get out to the islands on such a nice boat without having to deal with a crowd. The trips will depart from Sea Landing in Santa Barbara at 9pm Friday and Saturday night. The cost will be $175 per person. Please come join me and the crew aboard the Apollo next weekend. Captain Ryan Bositan called in today at 12:50 PM with an audio update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA.  We are currently drifting right now.  We have two 70 pounder Bluefin Tuna on the deck.  We have dumped 5 or 6 of them.  They are not coming in too easy today.  We also caught a half dozen Yellowtail on the way to the tuna grounds.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-17-2019 Great day fishing today on the yellowfin tuna. Over half the fish were 25 to 35 pounds. We also picked up quite a few Wahoo in the mix as well as one beautiful grouper. Definitely a fun day all away around. Our weather was absolutely beautiful except for about a four hour window mid day where the wind picked up pretty good and we got some rain. Otherwise a great day! Doing this again tomorrow. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 06-28-2016 A beautiful Tuesday we are having! Four yellowtail average per passenger and great weather. We are busy and that's all we have time for tonight Brendan just landed a 30 plus Yellow and its 9:00. Sea Ya Tomorrow. Polaris Supreme Crew!

Yesterday morning the fishing was great, but mid-day the fish went down. About 4pm we were back into some great action on the albacore and smaller grade blue fin. We also had some really nice hits on the yellowtail. Our weather yesterday and today is good. Today started slow with only a handful of albacore and bluefin. However the yellowtail fishing is fantastic! Thanks for checking in. Tommy and crew

We had a good day on the albacore. Everyone is having a great time in spite of the fact that the weather is sloppy and rough. However it looks like tomorrow it might lay down and we will have good weather. Let's hope. As I'm sure everyone knows by now, we have the Guadalupe permits. We might go there on our next two trips.
