Polaris Supreme Trip Update 07-28-2016 We finished up our trip today with some scratch yellowtail fishing all morning and then an afternoon of rock cod fishing, all in all a very successful day and trip. Thank you very much Mark Costello and fellow anglers for making it so. Were heading up in some beautiful weather and looking forward to our next group with Tom Chaparro and his limited load of only 18 anglers.We still have openings on our four-day trip after Tom's five day if you would like to come out fishing with us! We are hearing signs of yellowfin tuna that actually wants to bite. We are excited to give it a try here on Tom's trip. And no Mark Castillo group it's not the local stuff! Apollo docked December 9 at Fisherman's landing after an eight-day trip with just 11 anglers, who visited Alijos Rocks for some nice tuna fishing with skipper J.J. Gerritsen. Many large yellowtail were also caught.

Fishing today was definitely slower overall. We had a couple guys loses many as eight fish but we truly didn't hooked near as many as yesterday! We did manage to pick up a couple nice Wahoo and a few nice yellowtail today as well as in the night! We still have great weather and we're going to do this and another day!

Our big one from yesterday. We had a good opportunity in first thing in the morning unfortunately mid day was tough. We saw plenty of fish but just couldn’t get them to work, Back out Wednesday night !

87 yellowfin 4 skipjack. A couple lucky stops made our day. Highly recommend having a 20lb rod with size 2 hooks and matching flouro.

Our morning started off hot. We had some very good tailing for about 1 1/2 hours on the 16-22 pound grade. We managed to get a few fish per rod in that amount of time frame before things went dead around 8:30. It's OK, we were expecting that. We stuck with the plan and looked for yellowfin after that and it wasn't long before we connected. We had 2 good stops and one great stop on the yellowfin tunas and scattered small stops the rest of the day. They were a bit on the small side but that's what's around here so we fished them. After that we drove out of the zone to put ourselves in position for tomorrow and didn't catch much the rest of the day.
We'll be tailing it again tomorrow looking for the bigguns down below first thing in the morning. The weather this morning was great. It got a little windy in the afternoon but it was OK.

Rolling down on the Ranta trip!
Grease calm seas here rolling down on the Ranta 6 day trip. We had a great day of rigging, and are ready for action tomorrow. We may have a little wind this evening but it should subside by about 1 am for us.
We start fishing tomorrow.
