First off I'd like to give a shot out to my Phillidelphians. What up Philly. Your just going to let the Chargers roll in there and get it done. Uhhhh. That's right. You and your candy cane looking uniforms, Xmas all year long here in the mlb of Philly. And here's another thing, your cheese steak sandwiches stink. That's right, I said it. No hard feelings Philly. That's the way I feel about every team the Chargers go up against.
Now onto fishing. Today was awesome. I mean it was just a blast. We started it off early with a jig strike/sonar school and it was game on. Early on it was nothing but small fish. Small yellowtail, small yellowfin, small dorado. So we shook, shook, shook. Release, release, release. Then we caught a nice one. Then another. And another until pretty much everything we hooked was a 30-40 pound yellowfin tuna. Nice! Take that Philadelphia! Well we caught a bunch of them during that 1/2 day stop and it was fun. It was like fishing in a giant aquarium. Everywhere you looked it was tuna. You could choose which fish you wanted to hook if you were fast enough. You had to be quick though. After that we fished some kelps, some that were holding pretty good amounts of dorado, and we trolled around for some more tuna but we were spent after the first 1/2 of the day. I'm telling you, that was fun fishing.
Anyway, the weather today was mostly good. It got a little breezy there late but no complaints. We're sliding down and we're going to look at the yellowtail grounds tomorrow and decide on where to go from there.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-10-2016
Well we didn't quite have the day were hoping for. But everybody had the chance to catch a couple fish throughout the day. And of course the guys had fun. Between what we caught yesterday and today I'll call this a Great trip. It was really nice to see a good grade of yellowfin tuna around San Diego! We will be heading into the dock and unloading our catch tomorrow morning at 7AM. Thank you Brad and Dan for bringing a group of great guys out for a couple days on the Polaris supreme, and we hope the business keeps doing well. We will be taking a few days off and doing some boat work, see you out for our eight day charter coming up in about seven days! Looking forward to get down south. You guys make sure you're down at the boat by 7 AM we want to leave early!

Once again we weren't holding the lucky horse shoe in the tuna grounds today. We saw some fish in the morning but not a lot. Around lunch time up until after 6 we saw several schools that for us, wouldn't stick with the boat. Some of the boats found some that stuck which for a boat that didn't can be quite frustrating. We're going to stick it out here for our last day tomorrow. We have plenty of time tomorrow to locate biting fish and that's what we'll do. The weather was good today. A little windy late but the forecast for tomorrow looks great.

From Brook Trout to Big Yellowtail!
Siblings Tom and Mary Chaparro have been fishing buddies since the early days. They started out catching Brook and Golden Trout in the mountains when they were kids, now catching Yellowfin Tuna and Yellowtail on Toms annual 7 day trip. Keep it up you two!
A tad bit breezy today, but still plenty comfortable.

Hi friends. Well, our move paid off to go kelping out in right field. We hit a few kelps throughout the day and after weeding through the shaker yellowtail, we were rewarded with some quality yellowtail and dorado currently chilling in the RSW. The gang had themselves a real ball and we're hoping with the good weather forecasted, we'll be able to get on a few schools of tuna tomorrow and finish up the Joe Beck/Bob Vance trip with a bang. We're traveling up the line to hopefully drift up some squid later on tonight. Wish us luck and we'll chat with you tomorrow.
