January 21, 2025 black river Fishing Report

 OK.  It took until 4:00 this evening but I finally made up my mind of where we're going to go.  All day long it's been running through my head.  "rocks or ridge, rocks or ridge.  They both had there advantages and disadvantages but I believe I made the choice with the more advantages for this stage of the trip.  It's like a chess game out here sometimes with the rest of the fleet.

 So as you know we traveled all day.  We did a fishing seminar shortly after breakfast and I feel I got everyone on board super pumped on catching cow tuna so now we're going to have to do it.  No pressure though.  Tackle rigging, naps, relaxation, antsy.  Basically all the feelings.  Right now most of the boat is watching a batman movie loudly.  Some are lounging on the upper deck but dinner should be soon and off goes the movie.  It smells terrific too.  Baby back ribs tonight.

 So we have about 1/2 a day of traveling left to do and then we'll be in full fish mode for about a week straight.  Here we go.

The Tribute out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA checked in with us today.

Good cod fishing this weekend! Yellows were hiding again, but limits of rockfish means everyone goes home with some amazing taco meat!!

January 19, 2025 black river Fishing Report

Happy independence day! guys! We finished our day yesterday by continuing to pick away at those larger size yellowtail. Almost all of our anglers ended up with at least one yellowtail and we even had a hand-full of anglers who managed to catch their limit of those larger sized fish. As I'm writing this report, I am seeing quite a few small schools of yellows on the sonar. We are eager to find out what today has in stock for us! Happy Independence Day, Team Supreme

January 18, 2025 black river Fishing Report

Our first stop of the day was a bit humbling as we went 10 out of probably 50+ on the 50-110 pound Bluefin (anything under 40 on these fish was too lite).

We ended the trip with 14 Bluefin and 41 Yellowfin (18-60 pounds) in great weather for our 27 Angler’s, we go again tonight.

The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego,CA checked in with us today:

7 yellowtail, 110 red rockcod, 100 rockfish. These cool water yellowtail never make it easy.

January 16, 2025 black river Fishing Report

Polaris Supreme Update 11-14-2013

Whales, porpoise, turtles, seals, frigate birds, boobie birds, marlin, and of course yellowfin tuna. All were sighted in the last 24 hours from the deck of the Polaris Supreme. We found the fish today, or they found us. Either way, it wasn't as productive day as it could have been. Not a barn-burner, but it showed us what potential tomorrow might have. Exceptionally calm and balmy weather continues. The term "grease calm" comes to mind. Our weather is forecast to remain like this for at least another day, and the only drawback is there is not enough wind to utilize our kites.

The crew is too busy to update you, so this is your mystery guest writer once again. The crew is re-rigging us in anticipation of another round with a nice grade of tuna. Actually, dinner tonight will be fresh seared Ahi served with all the the accompanying goodies. One of the rewards for landing a few of the right kind.

Cocktails are currently being consumed as fish stories are being told down in the main salon. Time to relax, and get ready for tomorrow's adventure. Life is good ... talk to you tomorrow...

January 15, 2025 black river Fishing Report

Captain Ryan Bostian called in this morning with an update form the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. The boat is out today we haven’t heard from them yet. We caught 4 Bluefin Tuna over 100 pounds. This is once in a lifetime opportunity. We only have a handful of reservations for tomorrow. We are a definite go! Please be sure to be prepared with a heavy rod. We recommend at least a 50 pound outfit. You can also bring a lighter outfit for the Yellowtail. Listen to the audio for all tackle details. 53 pass. 10 yellowtail. We never located the bio-mass. Did they vacate the area, or just take a day off ? This question has been pondered many times in the past and only time will tell. If you plan to fish with us tomorrow. Please call Seaforth at 619-224-3383 for more info.
