After 6 months of fishing in the deep end it was nice to shut the main engines off and enjoy the world famous Coronado Islands. I have always felt that it takes 3 days or 3 really good boats to give the islands a proper check. Today was day one of putting the puzzle together. 1 yellowtail, plenty of bonito and rockfish. A 40 lb rod, a few yoyo jigs and an assortment of torpedo sinkers.
San Diego regular Chris Perez and friend show off a couple of 15 pounders. Donβt let this phenomenal late season action pass you by. 103 yellowtail, 54 bonito, and 2 halibut.
Ran into some phenomenal grade (30-50 lbs) ahi. A long drift accounted for 39 tuna and 44 yellowtail (10-18 lbs)
Today we saw incredible sign of 25-40 bluefin tuna. Make sure you bring a 25 lb bait rod to go along with your 40,50 and 60 lb rod.
