A good finish to a good trip today. It started off a slow morning like every morning of this trip started off. It being the last day we just traveled north all morning to increase our fishing time for the day. We bumped into a school of those 50-70 pound bft's mid to late morning and drifted till we were out of time. We landed almost 30 of those beauts before we had to call it and head for the barn. The weather today was great and the ride going up is ideal. The fillet and crab cakes were delish and everyone is tuckered out but me but only because I have to be up.

Thanks again to the Heil group for coming out once again after all these years and creating another memorable trip.

Today was a slow day out here for us. We never did find a school. We did a little bit of scratching in the morning, the afternoon was non existent and then we scratched some for about an hour into dark. Only a couple schools seen out here today. It was a slow day for most. We're going to stick it out here for the morning and if we don't see anything in the first couple of hours we're going to work up towards home and look along the way. We're still a long way from home. There's plenty of fishy ground above here too. The weather was OK today. I wouldn't sign up for it. A little breezy and choppy but plenty fishable. Looks like we can expect it better tomorrow and a very nice ride up. Hope they're right.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-20-2016 Good afternoon everyone, Today we started out fishing off the central baja coast, in hopes of lots of large yellowtail and maybe even a Seabass or two. An early wake up call was in order to try for a premium sized yellowtail or Seabass. Unfortunately the fish had other plans. So we pulled the anchor and began searching for any sign of yellowtail. We were not able to find any breaking fish or breezers but the bait life around was astonishing. We worked bait ball after bait ball for nothing. After concluding that the conditions were not panning out we started working our way north. Spot after spot of scratch yellowtail fishing. However there were a few lucky anglers that landed some quality mossbacks. We worked at it till about high noon and then decided to head off shore in hopes of a boomer kelp patty or a biting school of tuna. Water is clean and our hopes are high, Team Supreme

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-08-2016 Good evening folks, Polaris Supreme checking in. We had a fantastic day of yellowtail fishing! These larger size the yellowtail where biting everything from the dropper-loop and fly-line baits too yo-yo and surface iron jigs. It was definitely not a hard and get bit, unlike the last couple weeks. Many times throughout the day we had yellowtail boiling around the boat! We also caught a nice white seabass during one of the yellowtail flurries! Overall, it was a terrific day of fishing! We are now anchored up in an area where we have a great chance of catching white seabass, halibut and yellowtail throughout the night and early morning. Tomorrow, we will be spending our time in the same area in the hopes of duplicating the success we had today! Thanks for reading, Team Supreme

This year is my 20th straight season operating a boat at the Coronado Islands. The fishing that is happening right now is the best I have ever seen. Boats from 10 ft to 124 ft all drifting and getting them. Don’t miss out on this amazing display of bio-mass. Please be responsible and only keep what you need. Have fun, be responsible and help a kid or a beginner. The guys are getting them again this morning. 75+ out of their first stop.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-26-2016 Good evening and thanks for checking in. We started this morning at our chosen destination only to find rather unfavorable conditions due to cold water. Looking past that, we still gave it our efforts and ended up getting a few on board. We finally decided after a couple hours that the colder water just wasn't going to work, we chose to make a move to another area a few hours a way and take a look around. Low and behold, there happened to be even colder water there. Needless to say, there was no stopping, so we just continued on to the west . It didn't to take long to find absolutely gorgeous, more than fishable waters. We spent the rest of the afternoon hitting a line of beautiful size kelps scratching away at good grade Dorados and yellows. We'll travel overnight to the tuna grounds with hopes of shutting down on that one glory school to finish out the trip in style. Hi friends. The past couple of days has seen us hit numerous beautiful kelp paddies and after weeding through excellent dorado fishing and nauseating yellowtail fishing (WFO 3-5 pounders, all released with the exception for a handful of standouts), we have little tuna to show for our efforts. It's just a matter of finding the right deal that wants to get with it and we haven't been the fortunate ones since our incredible Friday. Anyhow, on a lighter note, the bronzing offshore is just top notch. Gosh it's nice. Beautiful weather has been a big bonus and we're hoping to finish off the trip with a bang tomorrow and fill up with some tuna fish to go along with our weather. Wish us luck tomorrow and don't go chasing waterfalls.

Mark's Hardhat Update:

Mark has been issued the hardhat on two separate occasions for two minor offenses for a total of ten minutes of helmet time thus far. There's still time for him to commit a major penalty and be forced to an all day helmet show. Fingers crossed.
