The tuna fishing offshore today was a bust. It shows how unpredictable tuna fishing can be on a day to day, week to week basis. We've told you before not to book based on the latest fishing reports and usually it's when fishing has been slow and all of a sudden busts out wide open. In this case it is the exact opposite. Yesterday there was some stellar fishing for a boat in an area and this morning all 9 of us boats were up at 4 in the morning drooling with anticipation of a wide open day soon coming. Unfortunately it never came and a couple hours after day light every boat picked a different direction and searched for where the fish swam off to. They were not found most likely because they didn't move, they were just down today. They could very well be in the biting mode tomorrow and it wouldn't surprise me a bit. It wasn't a total loss today. I mean we weren't skunked or anything like that but it just wasn't near what was advertised.

My point is if you're on any upcoming trips todays report means nothing to what is in store for your trip. Like Forest says, fishings like a box of chocolates.

 

Mr. Tommy Rothery will take the next voyage out while I go home to see my two ladies. Ones my dog domino. Miss you both.

Hello everyone, Today we are making our way down to the promise land. We are spending the day taking care of some boat chores and rigging up. We are getting anxious to wet a line tomorrow! The weather is great and we are traveling smoothly. Cannot wait for tomorrow! On a side note we would like to wish our charter master Mark Costello a happy birthday today! Hi friends. For whatever reason, the nice, lengthy report I just wrote was erased. With that, here is the short version of what I just wrote. Sorry.

We 2 Bluefin until after lunch and just as we were about to call it a trip, we found a school and a ripper bite on 50-70 lb. Bluefins was upon us and chaos ensued. With some gear already broken down, some guys had to tie hooks to straight spectra or borrow rigs but we ended up getting 38 out of that stop until we ran out of bait and had to kick it for the barn.

Our ETA for tomorrow is 0900 hours back to the docks and we'll be heading out on the 2nd annual Billy Stephens Family Trip. Tommy will be leading us to the promised land. Wish us luck and we'll give you a departure report tomorrow evening. Take care and have a fine Friday.

Mahi Mahi starting to bite ! Finally these dorados we have been looking at for over a week are starting to bite. Today we went out with 24 anglers and caught 28 dorado and 4 yellowtail. We will be fishing offshore everyday ! Bluefin tuna , yellowtail and dorado are all on the menu. Bring your fly line bait rods and come see us.

Capt Mike Pritchard called in a trip announcement for tonight aboard the Tribute, we have a trip leaving tonight targeting Yellowtail, Rockfish and Lingcod. So far we have a very light load and would love to have you join us, the weather is looking really nice for this weekend. Hello everyone, Today we spent the day Wahoo fishing. It was a pretty slow day, conditions were poor and the current was not happening in our favor. We scoured the grounds for only a few Wahoo and Dorado. There were a few Marlin mixed in as well. Defiantly not good enough to keep us here tomorrow. We are off to try for tuna tomorrow. We departed today on Bob Vance's annual five day. After we picked up a cruddy load of bait we dined on a delicious pork tenderloin for lunch and headed for the albacore grounds. This is a great group of anglers. Many have been on this trip with Bob for years. We are really looking forward to some good fishing. Weather is still good. Wish us luck.
