Hello everyone, Today we spent another day targeting quality Wahoo and school sized tuna. We did great, picking at the Wahoo the majority coming on live bait. The bombs and jigs seem somewhat dormant at the moment, but we're not complaining because fish are coming aboard! At times there is an incredible amount of life out here. From the Wahoo, Skipjack, Yellowfin, Triggerfish, and more. The volume of life makes it difficult to hook the targeted Wahoo and bigger Tuna. So there is quite a bit of weeding out of the small yellowfin and other species in order to get what we came here for. Aside from Tuna and Wahoo we had an unexpected jag of Dorado swim through today. We landed a handful of the larger models to add to the fall variety pack here aboard Polaris Supreme. We are heading up tonight in hopes of a Yellowtail topper tomorrow morning. Wish us luck! Hello friends. Well, the countdown is on. Come Saturday, the Polaris Supreme will be departing on her first trip of the 2012 season and the excitement level around here is very high. With all of our major maintenance projects being completed, we've shifted our focus to cleaning up the mess that the past month and a half as created along with finishing up some of the little "knick-knack" projects. Today, Jamie got serious in the galley wiping down the ceiling, the walls and countless other cleaning and organizing projects while Chef Schooler took inventory and is preparing for a fun day of shopping for the galley. As far as the rest of us, Mark, Tommie, Drew and myself have been doing various wood-work refinishing, organizing the engine room and deck, firing all the machinery up and working on the A/C unit. I'm pretty excited to see how the A/C will run this year as we've done some fine tuning to the unit to make it run more efficient with less noise. We'll see how everything goes when we install the new evaporator on Thursday. Jamie did a super clean in the galley, Schooler took inventory, and the bossman organized the wheelhouse and made various upgrades to some of our weather and fishing programs. We had all hands on deck today and we'll be popping in and out throughout the week to ensure that all systems are a go come Saturday.

So that's all. We're getting pretty fired up as the day is soon arriving that we shove off and hopefully find ourselves knee deep in some of those beautiful Bluefin tuna that are running around offshore and some homeguard Yellowtail at the islands. But for now, we'll just keep getting things cleaned up and organized. We'll chat with you tomorrow.

Hi friends. We landed 40 Bluefin most in the 35-55 lb. class Through the morning till lunch time in one long drift. late in the day we sat on another school and managed to land a few before dinner was served. As of now, we're sitting on the "sack" and we're metering fish all the time. We'll see what happens in the morning when we wake up. Hopefully, we can pick away at 'em on the bag and never have to move. We'll see what happens. Weather was ok and looks even better for the next few days.

We're happy with our day as some of the boats down here didn't even break double digits. So, we'll take it and run with it. Chappy and the boys are doing just fine and we'll be making a decision tomorrow whether or not to stay put for Bluefin or make the run down to the Yellowtail grounds. Stay tuned. Take care.

Thanks for the amazing response to the OPEN Shimano Charters we scheduled for the Channel Islands this spring. The response was so positive that I spoke with the folks at Shimano and they agreed to put another trip on line. This one will be set for fishing on March 13. That would be departing at 9pm on the night of the 12th. This trip will be just like the others. Shimano will provide a bunch of outfits for fishing butterfly and lucanus systems. There will be give aways of tackle and goodies as well. Please email me if you would like to join us on this trip.

We just got tied up this morning from a 3 Day trip. We finished with 15 Bluefin Tuna. The first day we saw a good sign of fish bit it was hard to get a bite. Yesterday the fish were more scatted and it was tougher fishing. The biggest we landed was a 197 pounder and we had a couple in the 140-150 pound range. We put in the effort to scratch up 15 of them.
