flagler beach pier Fishing Report 2025

Osterkamp charter had to work hard for every bite but in the end we achieved our goal. (1) made it home safe. (2) enjoy the ocean with friends and family. (3) every one of our 43 customers caught a fish as we ended with 61 yellowfin tuna.

The beat goes on at the Coronado Islands ! Today we caught 38 yellowtail 22 barracuda and 3 kelp bass. Fly lined sardines and surface lures were the best today.

 And we're off again.  This time for 8 days.  We got a pretty good jump at things today.  We cleared the point at lunch time which keeps our options open on where we can fish tomorrow and the next day.  I'm still not sure where we'll be tomorrow.  I may not be sure until I wake up in the morning and look at the hurricane coming up from below the cape.  As it's forecasted now, it's definitely going to effect our decisions on where we'll fish this trip and when.  But don't worry at home, we'll keep a safe distance from the dangerous winds at all times.  Find out tomorrow where I decided to start fishing.
        
 

8 yellowtail 150 assorted rockfish 65 reds.

Today we were able to try our hand at Yellowtail. Fishing was far from easy.The Yellows ranged in size with some waves of fish being 8-12 lbs and other groups coming through in the 20 to 30 lb range. We did manage to set most of the smaller ones free and tag the bigger ones. Exciting day, but had to work for the larger fish. Will report tomorrow, Team Supreme

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-06-2016 Hello everyone our morning started off with something different around the boat as we started our day of fishing for the bluefin tuna. What was it? Squid!! And yes we scooped up some to use for bait. sure enough we put it to good use with our first bluefin tuna of the morning being hooded on it. With live squid and sardines we did well today. Like Art Gutierrez landing a bluefin tuna over 90 pounds after a long and hard battle. most of the fish were 60-90 pounds. And yes we did have several heartbreaks which is part of the game with fish of this size. But we did land our fair share today. Great fishing all around. Today was a rigging day. We spent most of the day rolling down the line. During our travels we hit a patch of water that was incredibly blue and clean. In that stretch of water we managed to land one Dorado. A nice surprise. Aside from that it was a very leisure travel day. Tuna and Wahoo are in our sights for tomorrow.
