Today we arrived at the Island late in the day. We did not see much on our way down the east side, We started to see a little life once we reached the southern part of the island. However it was late in the day and we were not able to connect. Hopefully we can get it started here tomorrow!

Polaris Supreme Report 07-22-2016 Happy Friday everyone! We elected to stay the night at the same place as yesterday, in hopes of another action packed day of yellowtail fishing . We got the anchor down and started fishing around 5:30, to stage ourselves for the morning hit. As the misty morning came upon us we began to hook some nice yellowtail. We were finally starting to hit our stride when the fish quit biting. As the sky cleared it seemed as the yellows did too. We tried several spots that amounted to a slow pick throughout the day. Unfortunately we finished off the day without the wall to wall action yellowtail hit we were hoping for. However we still scratched up some quality fish. We feel very fortunate to have had such a great day of fishing yesterday. After fishing hard into the early afternoon we finally set a course for Point Loma to and wrap up this great 5 day trip. We have smooth sailing for the ride up and are looking at 7:00 am at the dock. We currently have a four day online departing August 2nd that still has a couple openings. Hi friends. We arrived back to the docks this morning at 06:30 hours and did our usual offloading procedures. Unloaded Tom and the boys, their gear, their beautiful load of Bluefin and Yellowtail, loaded groceries, cleaned the boat, cleaned the fish holds, refueled, changed oil/fuel filters, the girls made up the bunks with fresh linens and cleaned, freshwater the boat, vaccuum the upper deck/wheelhouse, clean/restock the galley, do the windows, load our new passengers and their gear, and take off for another adventure all within 4 hours of docking. We hustle, we know. We also managed a mass substitution of team members. Riddler, Jed, Shawn, and Dee headed for home and Drew, Matt, Schooler, and Ali relieved the gang from last trip.

With that, we headed to the bait recievers, loaded up on a decent load of sardines, and cleared the point by noon. After Schoolers famous bratwurst lunch, we knocked out our tackle seminar and hung out for a bit until we started fishing around 17:00 hours.

Our fishing was just OK. We managed to land a couple handfuls of Bluefin in the 30 lb. range before the sun settled below the horizon and nightfall ended our day. It was a very picky bite but the quality is what we're likin' the most. We're going to enjoy our traditional first night dinner of prime rib, idle downswell for a calm dinner seating/comfy nights sleep, and hit this again first thing tomorrow morning.

In closing, we're hopeful about the potential for tomorrow. Our weather is a bit sloppy but it's plenty fishable; just a tad bit wet and windy. Anyhow, we're here and we're looking forward to snappin' Bluefin tomorrow morning. Wish us luck.

16 yellowtail 150 calico bass 36 barracuda 65 whitefish 32 sheepshead. Very fun mixed bag fishing in shallow water.

YELLOWTAIL ARE BITING!!! SAN DIEGO on a 3/4 day trip scored 48 yellowtail along with 41 Sand Bass,18 Barracuda & 2 Calico. PACIFIC VOYAGER from a 2-day trip sacked 131 Yellowtail, 17 Sand Bass & 15 Barracuda. NEW SEAFORTH on half day trips took in 7 Yellowtail, 123 Baracuda, 3 Halibut along with some Bass, Sculpin & Rockfish. Twilight trips still getting some giant Squids. 59 bluefin 37 yellowfin. Quite a few bites on the 30-40lb flylined baits today. Sinker rigs, colt snipers and flat falls still getting plenty of action.

2 days of searching was rewarded with a bottom of the 9th rally on good grade yellowtail. Flylined sardines on 25 lb is the most productive right now.

Polaris Supreme arrived August 2 under skipper Drew Henderson's hand. Drew docked at Fisherman's Landing and offloaded his fish and 21 anglers, following a five-day trip. "We fished offshore and at Cedros Island," he said, "and the water at Cedros was clean green and back up to 69 degrees. The yellowtail are huge at the island, and a lot of these guys had their best ever. Albacore fishing is still tough, but the water's gorgeous." Scott Oberg of El Centro won first place for a 44-pound yellowtail he bagged with sardine on a 2/0 ringed Mutu hook on 40-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon, 40-pound P-Line, a Trinidad 20 reel and a Calstar 760 rod. Russell Ortez of Garden Grove won second place for a 43-pounder, and Don Carson of San Diego won third for a 32-pound yellowtail.
