Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-11-2016 Good evening folks, Polaris Supreme checking in. We started our day in the same area where we had phenomenal yellowtail fishing yesterday. The bait was there, the birds were there and the current was there, but for some reason the yellowtail were not. We did manage to pick away at a couple yellowtail, but we just couldn't get the ball rolling. After accepting the fact that the yellowtail pulled a no-show, we decided to make our way offshore in hopes of better things. And indeed better things we found! We spotted a big beautiful kelp patty that had a jumbo school of large hungry yellowtail beneath it. It was a day saver! These fish were biting the fly line and yo-yo jigs. We also saw a couple nice Dorado on the kelp but they did not like our offerings. We are now making way back up north to another area where we will be finishing off our trip by fishing for those larger size yellowtail once again. Also, sorry for the lack of pictures today. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-18-2016 Hello Everyone, Today we had a fantastic day of offshore fishing! We got on a school of big yellowfin that bit all day! The best part was the grade, an average of 50 to 80 lb fish! Amazing to have such good size biting fish in striking range from San Diego in California waters. We had a blast today bringing these fish aboard. Many people finished the day with their personal best tuna in the hold! The hot ticket was a good fresh flylined bait, and in the afternoon we hit our stride with balloon fishing. The balloon was deadly during the latter part of the afternoon. We are excited to get back at it and try again tomorrow morning. Wish us luck! Tight lines, Team Supreme

12 bluefin 10 yellowfin. Saw plenty of fish but didn’t connect with the right school. Flylined baits were still the top producer.

Captain Ryan Bostian called with an update from the Offshore Grounds. We had 116 Yellowtail and 1 Dorado. It sounds like there is a nice body of fish moving into our area. We recommend using 30 pound test. September is the best month of the year to go fishing in San Diego!

Hi friends. Tough day on the Bluefin grounds for us. We got on a spot around breakfast time and boated a kill box full of those school-sized Bluefins but after that, we never found anything worthy of our time and effort. With that, we bailed from the area and made a move to lower latitudes. The rest of our day was spent hitting various kelp paddies for mostly "neck tie" Yellowtail but we also found ourselves in a couple of stops on Common Dolphin for some 18 lb. Yellowfin tunas that hit the trolling feathers. All in all, it wasn't quite what we had hoped for but with the great weather we had going for us we gave it our all and the gang kept in high spirits throughout our day.

With that, we're headed down to do some Yellowtail fishing tomorrow. We'll see what happens. We'd like to get outside and get on some of that Yellowfin tuna that is biting a little bit but timing wise hitting the yellow's first fits in better. We'll chat with you tomorrow and have a fine evening.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-11-2016 Hello Everyone, Today we departed on our annual Ron Heil 5 day. The longest running charter on the Polaris Supreme! We are excited and proud to keep the tradition going. We cleared the point today at 1 pm headed south in search of fish willing and eager to bite. We will be in the zone tomorrow. Captain Mike Pritchard called in this afternoon with an update on the fishing conditions for the Tribute. We now have US limits of Yellowfin Tuna a total of 325 and 6 Bluefin Tuna. The fishing at 140 miles completely flopped this weekend sending boats in every direction. We did experience some good kelp patty fishing Saturday with 13 Dorado, 11 Bluefin, 28 Yellowtail and a lot of BIG BAD BONITO.

Sunday was spent sliding on school after school of quality Yellowfin Tuna for 20 Yellowfin, 1 Bluefin and 1 Yellowtail.

We did find a area of Big Bluefin just before dark, but they were lip locked.
Great to see this grade of Yellowfin in 1 day range and then there’s that “June Dorado”
We will be running 1 day trips all week, fishing for Tuna, Yellowtail and Dorado.
