crescent lake Fishing Report 2025

Today we spent the day in the crows nest looking for kelps. We had 73 degree water and flat seas . We were able to find some nice kelp patties with some Dorado and a few Wahoo on them. Nice little hits of action through out the day. Tomorrow we will be at Guadalupe Island to try for trophies. Here we have Gary with a great kelp patty Dorado on the light line! Also here is Mark with his first wahoo of the trip!

Today capt. Ray went out with 46 passengers and caught. 8 yellowtail 3 lingcod 2 sheephead and 118 rockfish. The yellowtail are still around but they only got active for about an hour today. Cold water yellowtail can be very moody. Timing is everything when it comes to catching these 59 degree water fish.

Today we had some fun fishing on the small yellowfin (released) and yellowtail up to 22 pounds. Our new guys Jim and Gunnar got the kinks out. Rack of lamb for dinner and off to bed to get ready for some hopefully great fishing tomorrow.

Mike Pritchard called in this morning with this report for the Tribute. "We've had a very nice start here this moring. A couple of kelps have been absolutely fantastic. Great Yellowtail fishing to go along with some Yellowfin and Dorado. We caught 160 Yellowtail out of 2 drifts. A lot of the fish were caught on surface irons, swimbait and even poppers.

"We are now targeting some tuna or maybe some Dorado. We'll keep you informed."

Great day heading up! Today we were able to find some Yellowtail to pull on. Good fish around, however it seemed that the water was a little too cold for them to bite good. Will be prospecting off shore tomorrow. We have a 1.5 day departing this Friday that still has openings. Perfect weekend trip to not miss work!

Capt Ryan checked in from the San Diego to report that they finished yesterday's trip with 111 Yellowtail. We got a lot on the yoyo iron as well as the surface iron and flylined baits. Make sure you bring all your Yellowtail gear to be prepared, a 40 lb rig, a 25 lb bait rod and a surface iron rod. Captain Andrew Viola checked in this morning at 8:59 PM with an audio update from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA.  We have been drifting for an hour and have put together a good score so far.  We have 62 Yellowfin Tuna and 4 Bluefin Tuna.  We are still drifting with fish around the boat.

We have a 1.5 day trip departing on Wednesday night.  We also have a full day trip on Sunday.  Come out fishing on the Pacifica!!!!

7 yellowtail 150 assorted bottom critters. Still seeing enough yellowtail to get a big hit just waiting for them to act up.
