Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-21-2016 For anyone that wants to go out and fish the local tuna outside San Diego that has been biting consistently we have a day and a half trip leaving on Sunday at 6 PM fishing Monday and coming back Tuesday morning at 6 AM. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, a good broken record, we had another great day of Wahoo fishing! It didn't stop there from dark on we had a great nighttime bite on Quality yellowtail, absolutely a beautiful grade. Talk about burning the candle at both ends of the stick! You guys leaving on the Ahi charter on the 22nd make sure you have plenty of the medium-size marauders in your tackle box. Not every day but some days the sharks are really really bad eating marauders and the Wahoo on the marauders. Anybody wanting to get in on some of the best action I've ever seen on these eight and 10 day trips we have openings on our limited load 10 day trip on November 22. Polaris Supreme arrived August 23 with skipper Drew Henderson at the wheel. Ryan Christianson of San Diego was chartermaster for the 24 anglers aboard on the Let's Talk Hookup trip. Mark Greul of Omaha, NE presented a 58-pound yellowfin at the scales and won first place for his effort. He said his fish bit a sardine on a 3/0 Flyliner hook tied to 30-pound Blackwater fluorocarbon and 30-pound Ande line. He used a Torium 30 reel and a Seeker Black Steel C8 seven and a half-foot rod. Richard Miller of Jackson won second place for a 40-pound albacore. Mark Cornoll of Jackson won third place for a 31.6-pound yellowtail.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-23-2019 We left yesterday on an eight day private charter with 10 anglers! We got a nice load of bait in San Diego and had really smooth sailing down all day. Today the same program on the weather it was absolutely gorgeous all day and of course the usual rigging good food napping and camaraderie amongst crew and passengers. Looking forward to getting to the fishing grounds tomorrow! Seriously watching a gnarly storm coming in over Thanksgiving! May slide in a day early just to avoid a serious beating. Standby for more on that one were watching it closely. Looks like it's going to be a lot of good rain for California though. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Spent most of our day in search mode after spending 2 days on the beach. Late in the day the group effort was rewarded. We ended with 55 yellowfin (15-35 lbs) and 75 small yellowtail for 36 anglers. Some nice schools of bluefin were also seen in the same area. A 20,30 and 40 lb rod will be perfect.

Hi friends. It's been a busy couple of days for us here on the Supreme as we completed our stay at Knight & Carver Yacht Center and our annual haul-out. On Monday, we sanded rails, replaced zinc plates, put the screens back up on the hull and got ready to be put back in the water the following day. Tuesday was a beautiful day. At around 1300 hours, we splashed down and with no leaks to our thru-hull valves, shaft and rudder packing, our mains and generators fired up without a hitch and we set sail back to our slip at Fisherman's Landing. It's great to be back home but although the scenery has changed and like Drew and I both said the other day as we exited the engine room; sweaty and with grease all over us, "boat-work is still boat-work" and most of our projects now will be a lot of mechanical projects, galley upgrades and wheelhouse upgrades.

With that, we have a few days off and on Monday, we will be south of the border dealing with some work permit issues and we'll be back at it on Tuesday. Take care everybody and enjoy the photos.

The Yellowtail are biting extremely well right now.

We had a great afternoon on them yesterday and this morning as well! 

We are hoping to pair some Bluefin with these Yellowtail later this afternoon.

The tuna have been popping up quickly in violent “formers”.

The angler who are able to get a quick cast into the chaos have been the most productive ones! 

The trip out now has tuna ranging in size from 30-115 lbs! 

Hopefully they start biting as good as they show.
