Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-03-2016 Today was departure day for our Simpatico five day charter with Vernon Burke as our charter head. We got off early without a hitch and picked up some nice bait at the bait receivers. We should make the fishing grounds by 6 PM this afternoon and be able to fish a hour and a half and before dark. We will probably be fishing the large grade Bluefin this trip that is out west of San Diego. This grade of fish is a beautiful size it is 50 to 100 pounds most of it right around 80. This should really test our anglers fishing skills. Wish us luck the Polaris supreme crew.

Capt. Matt and the boys are heading home with at least 6 bluefin over 100 pounds. Tomorrow’s trip is a definite go with a very light load. Most of these bluefin were landed on 40 lb flyline rigs. Mutu circle hooks from size 2-2/0 are recommended.

We had a good day on the wahoo and excellent fishing on the 20lb. yellowtail. Weather is still good and the excitement is high as we are going to look for some of those big tuna tomorrow. Our next charter on Nov. 8 with Lon Mikkleson from OTR still has a couple open spots if you can get away. Thanks for checking in.

This trip will depart on Saturday night the 5th and fish Sunday the 6th of April. The weather is supposed to be getting much better and shouldn't be a factor on the trip. Ling cod season is open and we will be looking for seabass as well. Please call Sea Landing for reservations at (805) 564-6753.

So far this year we have had absolutely phenomenal yellowtail fishing as well as a better chance than ever, in the history of Southern California to catch a bluefin over 200lbs! We are excited to announce we have multiple openings on trips that will be targeting these big grade of yellowtail, nice yellowfin and trophy size bluefin! Captain Ryan Bostian checked in today with an update from the San Diego. Today we had 50 passemgers catch 16 bluefin tuna (including a 116, 108 and a 65 pounder) and 10 yellowtail. Plenty of opportunity on the grounds today. Don't miss out on what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
