Drew Henderson docked Polaris Supreme June 11 after a three-day trip. He fished offshore kelp paddies to find a good catch of small yellowtail, a bluefin tuna and an albacore. Dale Goss of Lakewood got the bluefin and first place, as his tuna weighed 31 pounds. He enticed it with a sardine on a 2/0 Hayabusa hook. He fished with 30-pound Big Game line, a Daiwa H 40 reel and a seven-foot Sabre rod. Manvel Miuasyan of Van Nuys was second, for a 21-pound yellowtail, and Scott Tucker of Riverside was third, for a 17-pound yellow. Josh Evans of San Francisco got the albie. He trolled a cedar plug in natural wood color to land his longfin.

SUPER LIMITED LOAD!!! Hi again friends. We have a trip coming up that need to fill a spot on. This is a super limited load trip with only 15 people. Today we switched gears to Wahoo fishing. It was quite a bit of work but our persistence payed off with a couple nice stops on Wahoo. The fish are beautiful and the grade is excellent. we will be here tomorrow to try and get another crack at them. Here we have Alan with an absolute Jumbo Wahoo!

Well guys, we have thrown in the towel on our offshore season. I would first like to start out by thanking everybody who has come out with us this past season. To our loyal regulars, thank you very much for continuing to support us even though we were very crowded at times this past year. To our new customers, I hope we met all your expectations and look forward to fishing with you in the future.

Welcome to the San Diego family. 2012 has been a season I won't soon forget. From starting our season in La Jolla to getting kicked out of the Coronado Islands and then experiencing the best offshore fishing we have seen in years. This past season was a very unique one.

Here are our plans for the next 4 months. Since we are still unable to fish the Coronado Islands, we will be fishing in U.S. waters from the border up to Oceanside. These trips will be available Friday thru Monday and will depart at 7:00 a.m. and return around 4:00 p.m. the cost will be $80. These trips will target a wide range of fish. Yellowtail, white sea bass, calico bass, sandbass, halibut, sheephead, rockfish and rock cod will all be on the menu. I will put together a suggested tackle list in the next few days. We will do everything in our power to make sure we have live squid available on these trips.

Coronado Islands: rest assured that our issues at the Coronado are being worked on tirelessly by both Countries involved. I will keep everybody posted on any new developments. As soon as we are able to return to the islands you will be the first to know.

Hello Everyone, We just departed on our annual AHI charter. Defiantly a great group of anglers who know how to have a little fun with each as well as put some fish on the boat. At the moment we have the outdoor speaker system hooked up and secure, a beautiful load of bait aboard, and the Supreme pointed south eagerly steaming to our destination. I have three more fishing opportunities on the Apollo. Berkley will sponsoring three overnight Channel Island trips. These will be sea bass and rock fish type adventures. Hi friends. Absolutely gorgeous weather out here today; it couldn't be beat. It was flat calm, it was windless, it was sunny. We liked it. We're currently en route to the bait/Yellowtail grounds and our ride is motionless. Chef Schooler and Chef Shawn our downstairs kicking out Scallop/Shrimp Alfredo and strawberry milkshakes and root beer floats for dessert. We like that too. Anyhow, here is our day went.

The Mustache put us on one school in the mid-morning and we had a really nice go-around on some 25-40 pounders but as soon as they came, they vanished. No rhyme or reason why but they did. We had a few "filler stops" on smaller grade Bluefin and also some school-sized Yellowfin tuna as well but it wasn't enough to keep us from calling it a slow day. It wasn't for lack of effort and wasn't because of lack of fish, by the way. We saw multiple breezers of Bluefin today but they didn't react or if they did, they gave us the slip. Very frustrating to say the least. But, we managed to put a few on the boat before we began our descent to do some inshore activities.

So that is all. We'll be into the zone at 0400 hours and we'll be trying for some carnada. Wish us luck and we'll hit y'all up tomorrow. Happy Hump Day, y'all.

July 13
    We had some good tailing today.  We were a little slow out of the gates.  We didn't get on them until a few hours after daylight but when we did it was good fishing on the 18-25 pound fish.  We had one of those good old long drifts where we were gettin um.  Of course after a while we had a lull so we went searching and found some mixed grade yellowtails eager to bite.  They were mostly 10-14 pounds with a few 16-18 pounders in the mix but it was still fun and they were biting.  We did that for a couple hours and left them biting to find the bigger grade of fish we were fishing in the morning and wouldn't you know it, we got an evening whack.  A sun setter.  Now this fish seemed to be even bigger than the morning grade.  I'm talking 22-28 pounders this time.  Maybe a few bigger.  At dark we decided we had enough yellowtail and we'd like to top off with some more yellowfin and try for some bluefin in a couple of days so we'll be running up tonight.  The weather for us was good
  and the forecast for the future looks tasty.  5 knots of wind makes my mouth water.  Everyone on board here is fat and happy.  What I mean by that is they're being fed well and are having a good time.
