Our hunt for mahi mahi was rudely interrupted by big schools of 10-30 lb yellowfin tuna. 107 yellowfin, 23 skipjack. 20-30 lb and size 2 hook was the hot setup. Few fish on colt snipers as well !

Nice grade of Yellowtail on kelps, with really good sign of Tuna that were hard to catch. Also more Dorado showing on kelps, but the 2 we hooked, found their freedom.

64 yellowtail 2 bonito 1 barracuda. A few quick opportunities today.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 10-31-2018

Great fishing and weather today. Our success ratio was absolutely phenomenal. The grade and quality of fish course as you can see is excellent. As always it was calm in the Lee of Guadalupe Island. But today there was also know wind . Were super excited for another day tomorrow like we had today. See you then!

Long Drive Big Reward! Today we had a great day of fishing. We had quite the variety today, and they were all great grade! We had a few big Dorado on a jumbo kelp, and when we finally got settled in we were able to catch some great grade Yellowtail and Yellowfin tuna! We will try another spot tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Hello everyone, Today we had to work at it. The Yellowtail did not come easy, but we were able to piece it together with a couple flurries in the morning. For the most part the Yellowtail being tagged have been great size,18-35 lbs! In addition to the Yellowtail we we did land some beautiful grouper. Both Snowy and Leopard!. A great 8 day trip bonus! Hi friends. Nothing like a two-day trip, pulling on 50-75 lb. Bluefin tuna beyond normal two-day ranges. It just goes to show the value of these two-day trips leaving around noon, fishing all day the next day and then arriving back to San Diego in the late morning. Everything worked out for us on this trip and while fishing for the majority of the boats out here was tough (lots of schools were located but did not bite), we got lucky and found a really nice school of those beautiful Bluefin tuna's. We drifted all afternoon on this particular school and if you wanted a chance to hook one of these trophies, it wasn't rocket science to do so. It was some good fishing for a while there and although our casualties were high, we managed a very healthy score on the Bluefin along with a few "Cedros-grade" Yellowtail off of a kelp. We somehow managed to give every angler on-board the experience of a five-day trip in one day. Just going to show everyone, the advantage of these two-day trips.

So that is all. We'll be arriving to San Diego tomorrow around 1100 hours and we'll be taking a few days off before we get back on a couple of short range trips. Be sure to be on the lookout for more of these two-day trips in the near future. Thanks for checking in.

18 pass. 20 bluefin tuna from 60-80 lbs. Excellent opportunity to hook and land a trophy fish on 40 lb flyline bait with a 1/0 circle hook. 160 gram Flatfalls fished on 60lb was also working well.
