It was awesome yellowtailing this morning. As soon as we got to the grounds it was on and that time was dark 30. That's right. It wasn't even daylight yet and we were gettin um. Nice big fat yellows. As soon as daylight hit we were still gettin um and we kept gettin um for a few more hours too. And after that, we made a move and we were gettin um there too. So lunch time came around and Chef Shawn made yellowtail sandwiches and guess what, they were awesome. After that we worked up up up to get us in position for bluefining tomorrow. The weather coming up is not good. As I write this at the Charger halftime my legs are 6 feet apart for balance. Sometimes my butt is against the wall and I can barely reach the keyboard. The weather man is calling for better weather tomorrow. Should we believe him?

 The fishing was very slow for us this morning.  We caught nothing.  Of course that was due to us not fishing at all.  We were in full travel mode trying to make our destination shortly after lunch which we did and from here on out for the foreseeable future we're fishing baby.  So we were hoping to have a hit on wahoo.  The last boat that was in here caught 20 or 30 in a couple days and we thought they were moving in.  Maybe they were.  When we got here there were two boats already trolling it up.  Bad sign for wahooing.  We ended up getting one on the marauder and another 4 drifting.  Nice ones too.  5 lucky anglers.

 The tuna fishing was good.  Not wide open.  It looked really good on the machines but we could only scratch at them.  It was still plenty good to start off our trip and get us going. We tagged about 4 per rod this afternoon so definitely good fishing. No yellowtail though unfortunately.  We were hoping for some of that but we never saw one.  So we're making a move to look for more yellowtail to go along with the tuna we're catching.  We're going to do at least one more day here if not two before moseying on down to look for cows.

 The weather has been great so far.  Rolly this morning with offshore wind but that straightened out.  We had an action packed afternoon which is just what we needed.  See you tomorrow.
      

Good afternoon Sports fans from the bridge of the Polaris Supreme. So this will be our last travel day report. Starting tomorrow, it'll be test time for the OTR crew, time to let them apply what they've learned in all of our seminars. This morning after breakfast, we gave our final seminar. Tuned the guys up on stand-up fishing, both harness style and using the rail. We also talked about various different styles of kite rigs. There isn't much more we can say, now it's time for hands on and see who payed attention in class.  The rest of the day is just going to be spent fine tuning all of the gear, tightening up any loose ends and getting a good night sleep because tomorrow is game time! Hello friends. The weather could be a lot better offshore, that's for sure. It's bumpy, it's windy, it's cold and wet - the people are not digging it at all. It's just a bad time for everyone when the boat is rolling back and forth, bouncing up and down, the wind howling, people are sick and it's just an unpleasant deal all the way around. Buuuutttttt, this problem does not exist when you're in the calm lee of an island and that's where we are, so we're pumped. Our only problem with the weather right now is sun burns and kelp flies. Needless to say, we're happy we made the move inside and with the weather still forcasted to be up offshore, we're going to give this island weather another day and brave the elements of flat calm weather and endless sunshine.

As for the fishing; it wasn't hot and heavy but it was a nice pace for the gang to enjoy. We had a few morning drifts where the dropper loops were getting bit but the seals ended that party pretty quick. So, we decided to make a move for less local harassment and we had ourselves a nice drift around lunch time that really made our day. a fly-lined sardine was the ticket to capture a nice 'tail and the fish ranged from 12-18 lbs. Quality sized fish and the kids and adults alike were having themselves a ball. After our drift dried up, we toured around various spots to no avail but were excited about the prospects of tomorrow.

Like I said, we'll be here for one more day tomorrow and come the evening time, we're going to have to start working our way up the line and try to make it the smoothest ride we can going home. With that, we'll chat with y'all tomorrow. Have a great day.

71 yellowfin 11 bluefin 8 yellowtail and a couple skipjack. 20lb flouro and size 2 or 4 hooks worked best but we recommend having a rod to fish 30-50lb just in case we see wide open fishing or larger models.
