14 yellowfin tuna and 5 bluefin tuna. Once again, unbelievable amount of tuna in our zone. Most of the fish are strung out on tiny chovies making them very difficult to hook. A dedicated flyliner with 25 lb has a chance at a yellowfin. A dedicated flatfall or sinker rig fisherman with 50 lb has a chance at a bluefin.

Today our 30 anglers were treated to a 6 hour drift which resulted in 33 bluefin tuna from 60 to 100 pounds and 1 twenty pound yellowfin. We managed to keep 1-8 fish hooked at all times. Our bites were coming on 40&50 lb flyline sardines and 130-160 gram Shimano Flatfalls as well as 100 gram Shimano Colt snipers. TIP FROM THE CREW: In order to keep the deck clean and safe. We rinse with a saltwater hose constantly. Wearing rubber boots or waterproof shoes is recommended.

Hi folks. We departed today on an open party 8-day trip with plenty of familiar faces on-board, so it's more like a charter. We picked up a fine looking load of sardines and we'll see how they do on our southerly journey for the next couple of days. For now, everything is good. The seas were flat calm all day and the weather was hot but now, it's a little foggy out but absolutely no sea conditions. We'll take it. The boys just enjoyed a fat piece of prime rib and everyone is sacking out for the night -- fat and happy. Tomorrow morning, we'll knock out some seminars, get rigged up, and see if we can't stumble upon a school of some fat yellowfin and/or fat bluefin throughout our travels.

Anyhow, life is good for now. We're monitoring tropical storm Kristy and as of now, we're looking like she's going to miss us and we're going to have some nice weather in the next couple of days in our zones. We'll see. Wish us luck and we'll chat with you tomorrow.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-18-2016 Good evening everyone and thanks for checking in. Today was another gorgeous travel day into the lower latitudes. The weather just just about picture perfect all day long. As normal on these longer trips, Mike prepares a little bit of a later breakfast and shortly after the crew puts on our detailed fishing tackle seminar. There is a lot to go over to get the guys tuned up on the wide variety for fishing we might encounter. Being that there's so many different things we might see, we can't leave any stone unturned, especially for the guys that either haven't been on the Supreme or just haven't been on a longer trip at all. It's very important we have everyone dialed in and on the same page. The rest of the day was rather casual, a lot of rigging, crimping leaders, setting up jigs and just making sure all of the gear is fine tuned,. Once we got everyone tuned up the afternoon closed out with movies, naps reading books and just enjoying a nice ride down. Tomorrow we'll start off with some offshore style fishing and continue to make our plan for the rest of the trip. 211 yellowfin 2 bluefin out of one 5 mile drift. Hook size is crucial in getting bites. Match the hook size to your line size and bait. Check with the crew on the way out to make sure what you’re tying on is what we recommend.

Hello Everyone, We had a great first day of fishing. Full of variety and excitement. Today we mainly caught school sized Yellowfin Tuna and Yellowtail. However there were some Nice Dorado and Grouper mixed in as well. There is a lot of skipjack and small tuna bi catch, but we are able to weed through it for the keeper fish. Tomorrow we will have our sights set on Wahoo and Tuna. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

 Good evening folks. So today was a rather tough day of fishing. The weather certainly didn't cooperate with us for the entire day. Mixed up choppy seas with a little better than 15 knots of wind. As we all know that makes for less than ideal fishing conditions, but the guys still hung in there and when it came time to stop on a breezer, meter mark or a nice size kelp patty, then still got out and got their lines wet so bravo to them.  We still managed to scratch up a few yellowfin throughout the day with a couple tuna right at Sundown to take us into wine tasting and dinner. They always say that a tough day of fishing can be cured by a great meal and that was sure the case today. Chef David certainly out did himself once again with a beautiful fillet mignon and king crab leg meal for us tonight. That put some smiles on some faces without a doubt. But that's trhe great thing about this group, they aren't out here just to fish, they love to enjoy the full experience.  To wrap up the night, we dished out probably the tallest "decadent" chocolate cake a la mode that I've ever seen! Wow! That sent them to bed with full bellies and a nice ride up to tomorrows tuna grounds for round 2 of tuna fishing. Wish us luck and check back in tomorrow for the days run down.
