22 pass. 9 bluefin tuna from 50-100 lbs. A 50 lb setup with a 1/0 circle hook and a 4-6 oz torpedo sinker above the hook was the hot ticket. We also hooked a few fish on 200 gram Shimano flatfalls.

The Adrenalin rush of a “trip saving” stop in the final minutes is something that will never get old. 82 yellowfin tuna, 2 bluefin tuna, 11 skipjack. The Locals Summer is in full swing.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in at 4:12 PM with a wrap-up from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 19 anglers catch 53 Yellowtail and 93 Red Rockfish. We had very good Winter fishing at the Coronado Islands Today with Captain Cameron Cribben at the helm. We caught Yellowtail using all four techniques: surface iron, yo-yo jigs, fly-lined baits and dropper loop!
We are a go tomorrow with a light load!

Today went as planned. We fished yellowtail for a few hours in the afternoon to break up the travel time getting down below. We had to hunt a little but everybody on board got their share of tugging and pulling. We're traveling tonight toward the ridge. We should arrive in the afternoon if we don't stop prior to.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-15-2016 Today was pretty much just a travel day we rolled up the line in Socko fog this morning and spent the afternoon catching a little bit of table fare in the form of reds and lingcod. Our weather has been great until this afternoon and just in time for dinner we have bumpy jerky weather! Tomorrow morning we will be into the dock unloading a nice catch of yellowtail and some fine halibut! In completing another 5 day Heil charter. We would like to thank Ron for carrying on the tradition his dad started some 35+ years ago. And also thank all of you anglers for joining us and hanging in there on what was a long run to get into some good fishing! Today we will be taking out the let's talk hookup four-day charter! We unfortunately won't be able to make the long run we did this trip. We're going to have to get creative locally! Also on another side note cub you keep asking me about Wahoo fishing and no don't bring your gear for Wahoo water is getting cold everywhere. You need to go on a 7 to 10 day trip and of in the fall. Hi friends. We arrived back to the docks this morning at 06:30 hours and did our usual offloading procedures. Unloaded Tom and the boys, their gear, their beautiful load of Bluefin and Yellowtail, loaded groceries, cleaned the boat, cleaned the fish holds, refueled, changed oil/fuel filters, the girls made up the bunks with fresh linens and cleaned, freshwater the boat, vaccuum the upper deck/wheelhouse, clean/restock the galley, do the windows, load our new passengers and their gear, and take off for another adventure all within 4 hours of docking. We hustle, we know. We also managed a mass substitution of team members. Riddler, Jed, Shawn, and Dee headed for home and Drew, Matt, Schooler, and Ali relieved the gang from last trip.

With that, we headed to the bait recievers, loaded up on a decent load of sardines, and cleared the point by noon. After Schoolers famous bratwurst lunch, we knocked out our tackle seminar and hung out for a bit until we started fishing around 17:00 hours.

Our fishing was just OK. We managed to land a couple handfuls of Bluefin in the 30 lb. range before the sun settled below the horizon and nightfall ended our day. It was a very picky bite but the quality is what we're likin' the most. We're going to enjoy our traditional first night dinner of prime rib, idle downswell for a calm dinner seating/comfy nights sleep, and hit this again first thing tomorrow morning.

In closing, we're hopeful about the potential for tomorrow. Our weather is a bit sloppy but it's plenty fishable; just a tad bit wet and windy. Anyhow, we're here and we're looking forward to snappin' Bluefin tomorrow morning. Wish us luck.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-08-2016 Hello and good morning anglers. We departed today on Bill Stephens annual five-day charter with 23 happy anglers. A quick stop at the bait receivers netted us a nice load of sardines. We are currently heading south in good weather and looking forward to starting fishing tomorrow.
