    And we're off on another 5 day trip.  Things didn't go so hot at the bait receivers.  The bait we got was healthy, we just weren't allowed to take a full load.  We were shorted 75 scoops or so.  Anyways, we looked for fishies this afternoon.  We saw some small spots of yellowfin right out of the gates that wouldn't bite, and then didn't see anything until almost dark.  A sonar ball of yellowfin produced three fish so we got jackpot handled already. 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  We're going to slide down a little tonight and look in an area that produced some pretty darn good yellowfin fishing today.  The weather is magnificent.
                            

 

Polaris Supreme Report 07-14 -2016 #2 Well our yellowtail bite we had going on this morning never ended. It lasted almost 12 hours. Constant action all day long! Surface iron fish was insane! Everything we threw at them pretty much got bit. What a day and what an amazing grade these fish where! Definitely the best yellowtail fishing we have had this year! The plan for tomorrow is to use this beautiful weather to our advantage to hopefully load up on some Tuna! Good evening, friends. One more day. Just one more day of boatwork and we will be setting sail on our first voyage of the 2012 season. Today was a successful day as the revamped air conditioning unit was finally completed and she's running quite smooth if I must say so myself. Other than loading some dry groceries and other supplies, we did some more cleaning and organizing and I can honestly say that tomorrow everything will be clean and stowed away. For now, we're all enjoying our last couple of days with our families and living the "land life" but at the same time, we're all anxiously awaiting a shot at some of those gorgeous Bluefin tuna, Yellowtail and anything else that we can locate.

So that's all that is going on with us. Just putting the finishing touches on our boatwork and transforming the boat into a fishing machine. Thanks for checking in.

This is the launching of the Polaris Supreme after our Haul out. We hauled out at Shelter Island Boat Yard and all though it was my longest ever it was definitely the least pain less. Thank You Guys in the yard, And Girls in the office.

Today we went out with 16 anglers. Fish count for the day was 1 yellowtail 50 red rockcod 80 rockfish and 1 lingcod.

Capt Ryan Bostian checked in from the San Diego as they wrapped up their trip of 5::30 am to 5:30 pm full day trip, we ended the day with Mexican limits of Yellowtail for out 9 anglers. Yes we went out with 9 anglers, it has been light loads and looks like it will be that way all week. Today was a really nice change of pace as we dropped anchor and never had to move, and we had 1 - 4 hanging at all times today. The fish today averaged from 15 to 25 lb, the flylined baits and the surface irons worked really well today. We will be running everyday this year and the fishing has been really fun. Wish you could have been there, if the boat is still floating then we will be running.

Hi friends. Long time - no talk. We've decided to update everybody on our annual maintenance season to begin our 2012 season. We hauled the boat out at Knight and Carver Yacht Center and immediately dove into our projects that should take us the next three weeks to complete. Painting the outside/inside of the boat, refinishing the rails, and repainting the deck are just a few of the cosmetic projects on our list along with numerous mechanical projects to ensure that the Polaris Supreme not only looks good but operates at tip-top performance. This time of the year is always bittersweet. It's nice to maintain the boat and get her looking good for the up-coming season but it's also terrible to see a boat like this. The boat is unrecognizable, she sits on blocks, dirt and paint dust everywhere, grease, mud, and tools lying everywhere and it's hard to believe that she'll look like a brand new boat in a few weeks. But somehow, it happens and we hope that everyone will appreciate the hours we put into keeping the vessel looking good and running smoothly for you.

Anyhow, we'll report back to you daily and every few days or so, we'll send some photos along so that you can see what Tommy, Drew, Jed, Mark, Tommie (new guy) and myself are up to on the boat. Hopefully, I'll be able to type after twelve hours of sanding and grinding. Take care everyone.

 Today was mostly a travel day for us as was planned. We did stop late after 4:00 in the evening for some yellowtail. It took a bit of looking around but we eventually found some action. It wasn't exactly what we were looking for but it kept us busy for a while. 8-15 pound yellowtail is what we caught. We released most of what we caught but we tagged some of the 14 pounders we were getting. The fish bit until we left it to try and find a better grade. We never did but we didn't have much time left to look. The weather was definitely on the choppy/windy side of things today but it didn't bother us because we were rolling down with it so we didn't notice. We'll make a move tonight and fish first thing tomorrow targeting D, all of the above. See you then.
