Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-10-2016 Well we didn't quite have the day were hoping for. But everybody had the chance to catch a couple fish throughout the day. And of course the guys had fun. Between what we caught yesterday and today I'll call this a Great trip. It was really nice to see a good grade of yellowfin tuna around San Diego! We will be heading into the dock and unloading our catch tomorrow morning at 7AM. Thank you Brad and Dan for bringing a group of great guys out for a couple days on the Polaris supreme, and we hope the business keeps doing well. We will be taking a few days off and doing some boat work, see you out for our eight day charter coming up in about seven days! Looking forward to get down south. You guys make sure you're down at the boat by 7 AM we want to leave early! The Polaris supreme crew!

Tuesday Dec 4 looks to be the best weather window for those folks looking to fish with us.  If yellowtail are unavailable we will target cod in 180-400 ft.  Before anyone freaks out, this picture was taken a long time ago and was on a Comercial boat fishing in legal US waters.  Come prepared for yellowtail and bottom fish.

Captain Ryan Bostian just called in with an update from The San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 33 Yellowtail (18 to 31 pounds) for 48 anglers. They fish were biting good in the morning on YoYo Iron. Then in the afternoon the surface action picked up. We are seeing lots of fish and things are looking good for the Coronado Islands. Ryan Bostian called in from the San Diego with this report. "We've been fishing offshore & the Yellowtail fishing has been excellent. We have been fishing kelp paddys 20 to 40 miles from home. The Yellowtail fishing is starting to slow down a little bit. The body of fish we have been fishing is starting to move on out to the northwest. However, today Capt Ray went out with 31 passengers. We caught 12 Yellowtail, 1 Skipjack, 7 Dorado and 40 Bluefin tuna. It was an excellent, excellent day. There were some very nice schools of tuna out there. It's getting to be that time of year that is going to turn more into tuna time. We should start to see more Yellowfin tuna in the counts, or more Bluefin.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-04-2016 Hello Supreme fans, We started the morning out offshore looking for a tuna school to bite to no avail. After a couple hours of that we switched gears and headed in to the beach and tried our hand at yellowtail. Our efforts were rewarded with steady action on great grade yellowtail. We also had an expected species mixed in with the yellowtail, Yellowfin tuna! As the yellowtail action continued through out the day we were able to catch steady tuna as well. The yellows were biting the typical yellowtail rigs, however they did seem more concentrated on the surface. So the flyline fisherman had the hot hand. We are proceeding north at the moment, hoping to pick up speed and maybe have a little time to fish tomorrow. What a much needed great day of fishing! The Supreme Team

Skipper Tom Rothery docked his Polaris Supreme after a five-day Stern Hog Chartered trip. The boat's 18 anglers got off at Fisherman's Landing August 8. Chartermaster Tom Chaparro, of San Clemente recalled one offshore stop that produced almost a hundred fish.
"It wasn't even that big of a kelp," said Chaparro. "But it was full of dorado and yellowtail. We had a great time, a good group of guys. This is our ninth year chartering this trip." Ron Rose, of Jacksonville FL took first place with a 31.8-pound yellowtail. Ron used a 3/0 Eagle Claw hook on 30-pound P-Line, a Pflueger Reel and a Calstar 970 rod.

Rich Vandenoord of La Jolla was second with a 30.6-pound yellowtail, and Pat Kennedy of San Francisco was third, for a 30.4-pound yellowtail.
"We had great quality yellowtail at Cedros," said Skipper Rothery, "and one real nice white sea bass. We had that one big kelp bite yesterday, and the tuna are around but they're not bitin'."
