moreton island Fishing Report 2024

7 bluefin. Saw plenty of fish but never found the right school at the right time. All it takes is one stop.

Fishing was excellent today. Most of the tuna were 70-125 lbs. they started biting in the gray and continued just until dark. We released all of them except Al kept a 197 lb. tuna and Craig kept one that was 187 lbs. We also had a few wahoo mixed in. Weather is gorgeous. We are going to give it a try again tomorrow. Lunch was Chili Colorado, hors d'oeuvres were shrimp, crab claws and sashimi. Dinner was tuna Baja (that's a tuna fillet split and stuffed with avocado and crab meat with a sweet teriyaki ginger sauce to top it off).

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-11-16 Today we are going to start out our report by telling Carla Studley that her husband Tom Studley would like to tell her he loves her and has been happy to have been married to her for so many wonderful years. Happy Anniversary Carla and Tom! After writing that last sentence I just found out that Mark and Eve on board are having an anniversary today! Congratulations to you two also! Well on to fishing. I don't know where they came from I'm glad they did we just had a great day Wahoo fishing! What a great place to celebrate your anniversary for Mark and Eve catching Wahoo on board the Polaris supreme! At least you get the benefit at home Carla with Wahoo tacos Wahoo Almond Dean and what ever delicious dish you can come up with. We have great weather and are having a fantastic time out here we are hoping the Wahoo are going to stick around inside here like they were today, that would be fantastic to do this two days in a row! Hey everyone the Voyager has a 1.5 day down to Colnett on Jan, 7th. There has been decent sign of yellowtail on the high spot in the AM. and good lingcod fishing as well! The reds have been abundat!!

Departure date and time January 6th at 5:00 pm

Return on the morning of the 8th between 6-7AM

We are putting the Tuna to sleep here aboard the Polaris Supreme! Great grade again 60-110 lb fish. Big fish paired nicely with great weather. We are loving it! 

Here we have Crewman Jake and Chef Roger rocking this Ahi to bed! About to sleep nicely in the 32 degree RSW fishhold.

Excellent Bluefin Tuna fishing on the limited load Chaparro 3 .5 day. Big ones in the 130lb class and lots in the 20-40lb class as well.

47 yellowtail 29 bonito 6 calico bass. A couple of good shots today. Surface iron fishing is a technique that should be attempted once you are completely comfortable with your gear. I believe that you will enjoy fishing a lot more if you become very good at bait fishing first. Flylined sardines were the most productive today.

51 anglers, 106 Yellowfin Tuna, 255 Skipjack Tuna. Saved by one stop again.
