GOOD GRADE ! We knew something was different when we had been stopped for 20 minutes with 20+ tuna hooked and we still had not put one on the boat. After a couple hours of drifting and many “zing-pows”. We managed to land 82 (22-30 lb ) yellowfin. We also had a late afternoon skipjack riot for 138 fish.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-03-2019 We scratched out a few nice grade fish today. We had a couple grouper up to 40 pounds and a few hands full of 25 to 40 pound yellowtail. We have some great pictures of them but we were unable to upload them to the computer from our photo apparatus. We'll work on that and try to get you those pictures tomorrow. The weather and food is great and were hoping for a big hit tonight. I almost forgot we had two really nice 60 pound Wahoo to go with it. Be looking for their buddies tomorrow! This past week was spent offshore catching yellowtail and waiting for the bio-mass of yellowfin tuna to move within our range. On Wednesday we started to see the first sign of tuna in our area and caught 8 yellowfin and 5 bluefin. Thursday and Friday we only caught 2 yellowfin but the yellowtail fishing was phenomenal . Thursdays passengers caught full Mexican limits of yellows in the 7-11 lb. range. On Saturday Capt. Ray had a very good day as he caught 1 yellowfin 1 albacore and 82 yellowtail. On Saturday we also had a couple other 3/4 day boats out of Seaforth connect with a few tuna. All and all I am very excited to see what October brings. We had another tropical storm down south which should bring some more warm water up. This could be a very special October so don't put your fishing gear away yet!

11 yellowfin 83 skipjack 6 yellowtail 1 dorado. We covered some ground and ended the day with a couple good stops. Offshore fishing is always high risk high reward

 Remember yesterday I was talking about plans? Well if you read my first report of the trip I talked about dragging our feet a day and waiting for the weather to get pristine out at the Rocks. That was the master plan and well, it worked out. Today we had great weather to go along with our great wahoo fishing. We arrived to the grounds at 7:30 and we were getting steady jig strikes on wahoo to go along with jigging and baiting until about 5:30 when things around here went to bed. I really wanted 4 more wahoo for the magic number but we tried and tried and we gave up. The fish went to bed so we will too. We're now sitting on anchor getting ready to enjoy a nice sunset before eating a nice dinner. Like I said , the weather couldn't be better. We'll have a great nights sleep. We're going to try this again in the morning and take it from there. It's the last day we ever get in August of 2014 and I'm glad we spent it here.

Today we had fantastic fishing on 15- 25 lb Yellowtail. We were able to get on a couple really nice schools that made for some great action! Both the kids and the fathers did a great job putting the wood to these fish! There was definably a lot of sore arms when it was all said and done. Here we have Colt and Kingston with some nice Yellowtail. Hopefully they will be rested up for offshore tomorrow. We will be looking for Tuna and Dorado.

Good evening everyone. We departed earlier this evening for our second annual Optima charter with Garth and his best of buddies. We loaded up on some bait that doesn't look all that stellar but maybe after it settles down, they'll turn into some champions. Anyhow, we're on our way down to try our hand at some Bluefin tuna offshore and some Yellowtail on kelps. Apparently, the Yellowtail are growing a little bit, if you can locate the right kelp as one of our code boats did, and caught some 'tails in the 15-22 lb. range. Regardless, we'll be looking first thing tomorrow morning and we'll try to make a day of it. Our weather is beautiful and we're looking for more. Wish us luck.
