willamette Fishing Report 2025

Hello everyone, The past couple days have been tough out here. We managed to land some nice school sized tuna yesterday but not nearly the numbers we were looking for. Today we tagged some Grouper and a nice Dorado. However the highlight was defiantly the groups of Striped Marlin we found in the afternoon. They were high and dry with Frigate birds putting on quite a show above them. Not our targeted species on these trips but defiantly a nice reason to stop the boat and fight a couple. The areal show is always quite impressive. With the marlin in our wake we now have our sights set on trophy tuna tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Hey gang:

This past week we got a taste of just about everything the offshore grounds have to offer. Wednesday and Thursday were spent drifting over the top of some of the biggest schools of bluefin tuna I have ever seen in the local waters. While we had a lot of fish around and under the boat we did not catch all that many of them. I have been saying for years that I believe a bluefin tuna is one of the hardest fish to hook in the ocean and they proved it as we caught 11 on Wednesday and 7 on Thursday. Monday and Tuesday were relatively slow days for us as we returned to the dock with 20-30 mixed fish (yellowtail,dorado). On Friday and Saturday we took out 2 separate rent rod charter groups and experienced some very fun fishing for yellows and dorado. The highlight of the week was our Saturday trip as we caught 68 mixed fish (46 yellowtail 22 dorado). If you are planning to come out with us this week , all you need to bring is a few bait rods. 25 lb. has been the most popular size as it is a nice medium between light and heavy. In the event that we run into a school of bluefin a 15 or a 20 lb. rod is a nice outfit to have. A 30 lb. rod can be used on kelps where the dorado and yellowtail are biting good.

Nov. 6

                Hello you all.  It's November 6th and we have a full load for a day and a half trip.  Nov. 6.  Now that's 2015 for ya.  So we're back out again and this time it's for an extended time because we have this 1.5 day and then we arrive/depart on a 10 day.  We're fueled and Smarted and Finaled up and ready to do it all baby.  First things first though.  We took straight sardine because we're going to mix it up this trip.  We're going to skip the veal tuna at the bank and fish for yellows at Clemente and look for a dorado kelp in the afternoon.  See you tomorrow.

                                                                               

Looked at an incredible amount of 30-60 lb bluefin and managed to land 4. One cooperative school of 20-30 lb yellowfin where we landed 46. A few random skipjack and perfect weather.

Here is a late report from Sunday. Captain Ryan checked in from the San Diego with a Yellowtail update. Today we caught 151 California Yellowtail, 19 Pacific Bonito and 3 Calico Bass. The amazing Island fishing continues.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-03-2019 We scratched out a few nice grade fish today. We had a couple grouper up to 40 pounds and a few hands full of 25 to 40 pound yellowtail. We have some great pictures of them but we were unable to upload them to the computer from our photo apparatus. We'll work on that and try to get you those pictures tomorrow. The weather and food is great and were hoping for a big hit tonight. I almost forgot we had two really nice 60 pound Wahoo to go with it. Be looking for their buddies tomorrow! Today our 30 anglers were treated to a 6 hour drift which resulted in 33 bluefin tuna from 60 to 100 pounds and 1 twenty pound yellowfin. We managed to keep 1-8 fish hooked at all times. Our bites were coming on 40&50 lb flyline sardines and 130-160 gram Shimano Flatfalls as well as 100 gram Shimano Colt snipers. TIP FROM THE CREW: In order to keep the deck clean and safe. We rinse with a saltwater hose constantly. Wearing rubber boots or waterproof shoes is recommended.
