Tommy Rothery docked Polaris Supreme at Fisherman's Landing October 5 following a five-day trip.
"We had full speed fishing today offshore on kelp patties," read the report from the boat for October 4. "However for the most part, the yellowtail and dorado we were catching were small. So we released all but a few. We did however get some nice grade yellowfin. No big hits, but good action as we picked away at 30 lb. yellowfin. Jeff prepared a great Cajun chicken with avocado, mozzarella and fresh salsa for lunch. And as we head in tonight he is serving us steak and lobster. We will hit the dock tomorrow morning at 8:00 am.
"If you are thinking of coming out fishing we still have some open spots with Larry Brown on his 10-day departing October 25th. Highly sponsored with lots of raffles and giveaways. Give Susan a call at 619-390-7890."
Jackpot winner Kenny Pole of Lakeside had a dandy 45-pound tuna for first place. He said it came on a sardine, a 2/0 ringed Super Mutu hook, 50-pound Yo-Zuri line on a TLD 30 reel and a six-foot rod of unknown make. Pole said the fish fought for 45 minutes.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in with an audio update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today we had excellent offshore fishing for Yellowtail. We ended the day with 131 Yellowtail and 1 Bonito. A 25 pound bait rod was doing the trick today. We did have some surface iron action too. Please be prepared with for the Bluefin Tuna. You will need a 30 pound bait rod for the small fish. But you should also have a heavier outfit fish fishing flat fall jigs.

Today we spent the day trying for Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna. It was a grind but we were able to catch some Yellowtail, great grade Tuna, and some Wahoo. Not the red hot bite that we were hoping for but still a good time none the less.
We also had to make bait tonight. It went great. Lots of mackerel came aboard and we have plenty to fish with.
We will try it again tomorrow for the hoos and Tuna.
Pictured here is Mick with a large Yellowtail and crewmen Jake (the Snake) and Morgan doing some shaking in the wee hours of the morning.

Good morning everyone,
Yesterday we worked our way up and tried for yellowtail briefly in the morning. We had to be extremely cautious because the early morning fog was very thick.
However when it did rise we were able to catch a few yellowtail, but no boomer hits to go with it. We are still very far down the Baja coast and we need to keep working up, so we spent the rest of the day steaming up while dragging some jigs.
We will be scouting offshore tomorrow.
Will report again tomorrow,
Team Supreme
