Captain Ryan Bostian checked in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today Cameron Cribben drove the boat and we had 24 passengers catch 11 Bluefin (25 to 60 pounds) plus 20 Bonito. This time of year conditions are changing fast and we need to be prepared for multiple types of gamefish. This afternoon some bluefin tuna moved into the yellowtail grounds. Again we have beautiful weather. Today we had our fishing tackle seminar and just kept traveling. Dinner was lobster and fillet, and some really exquisite sushi and sashimi for appetizers.

Our full day trip was turned into a 1/2 day trip due to rough seas. We did however get a couple of good shots and ended with 28 yellowtail. Looking forward to spending an entire day on the grounds tomorrow.

Hello everyone, Today we disembarked on our annual Holeman 10 day trip.It was great to see some familiar faces again. We loaded up on some perfect sardines and were on our way. Pointed south, we spent the day preparing tackle and settling in nicely. Also, the foretasted weather couldn't be any better as we make our two day journey down to the fishing grounds. We plan to finish up our fishing preparation tomorrow. With great company and great food from chef Mike, today was another day in paradise. Will report tomorrow, Team Supreme

July 28
    Today we had about as good of yellowtail fishing as you can get.  Quality to quantity ratio, holy Toledo.  18-25 pound fish and they were biting pretty much as full speed as yellows bite for a couple hours and after that it slowed down but they were still biting well for a couple more.  If you have read my past reports you know that surface iron fishing on big yellows is my favorite kind of fishing and it was pretty much wide open on the surface iron.  Holy Toledo!  I'm not the only one who felt this way either.  We have a Polaris Supreme first timer on board, his name is Josh and he may love it more then me.  He named his dog after a surface iron.  Tady.  How cool is that?  We've had a tank of mackerel on board for about 3 weeks and we finally let them go today.  On hooks that is before getting eaten by yellows.  In the late afternoon ewe looked for bait and found some a couple hours before dark and caught a tank full of nice mackerel.  We restocked our supply.  We made a couple drifts along a kelp line while the sun set and tugged on a few calico bass and now we're headed up to fish tuna tomorrow.  Sweet dreams.

The smaller fish 20 to 25 pounds are biting 20 pound test pretty good. But please bring some heavy line for the bigger models! Today our 24 anglers landed 7 bluefin tuna from 70-85 pounds. First time anglers, seasoned anglers, captains, crewmen and all the way up to our office personnel. Nobody is off limits when it comes to the frustration and lack of sleep that a bluefin can create. However, if you stick with it, come prepared and keep an open mind. You will eventually be rewarded with a fish of a lifetime.
