today Fishing Report 2024

Hello Everyone, Today we had some good fishing today. Great grade Yellowfin, some Yellowtail, Bluefin, and a Dorado. A great mixed bag for the day just hoping for better numbers tomorrow. Will Report then, Team Supreme

Owner skipper Tommy Rothery docked his Polaris Supreme August 28 after a five-day Bob Vance charter. The boat's 24 passengers saw a great night-bite at Cedros Island. "We had great fishing at the islands," reported Rothery at Fisherman's Landing. "Good quality yellowtail throughout, and we found some nice yellowfin up to 40-pounds." Steve Pistone of West Hills won first place with a 49.4-pound Benitos yellowtail. Steve fished a ‚Дтdine on a 4/0 Owner Gorilla hook, 30-pound Ande line, a Pro Gear Albacore Special reel and a custom jig stick rod. "I was amazed," Pistone admitted. "I never would have thought he was going to be that big. It was only a 10-minute fight, not long at all. My daughter probably would have got jackpot at Guadalupe, but the shark took a chunk out of her tuna." Chris Mohs of Ventura was second for a 40.4-pound yellowfin, and Kub Ito of Harbor City took third for a 38-pound yellowfin. The Supreme will be heading out on a nine-day charter today, said Rothery.

Where'd they go?? We got a few wahoo today, but nothing like yesterday. Our day consisted of scratching away at yellowfin, yellowtail, pargo, dorado, and wahoo on some different spots. Don't get me wrong. It was not a bad day fishing, just not like yesterday. Our weather is still good. Actually it's too hot, the water is 83 degrees. Not bad for the fish, but warm for us. Tomorrow we will be off shore kelping for wahoo, dorado and tuna until it's time to head home and wind up this fantastic trip. It's going to be a great fall season. Thanks for checking in. Captain Jodie Morgan called in from The Apollo. We just returned from a 2.5 day trip and we had limits of Yellowtail and 52 Bluefin Tuna (25 to 65 pounds). If you are interested in jumping on the Apollo call the chartermaster Allan 714-797-9030 to get in on a Two Day trip July 17th and 18th.

Captain Andrew Viola checked in this morning at 8:59 PM with an audio update from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA.  We have been drifting for an hour and have put together a good score so far.  We have 62 Yellowfin Tuna and 4 Bluefin Tuna.  We are still drifting with fish around the boat.

We have a 1.5 day trip departing on Wednesday night.  We also have a full day trip on Sunday.  Come out fishing on the Pacifica!!!!

The first annual Ocean Tackle Research trip aboard Polaris Supreme returned with skipper Tom Rothery and chartermaster Lon Mikkelsen November 19. The ten-day trip had 20 anglers. "We caught a lot of variety and had good fishing," said Mikkelsen, from Hood River, OR. "We also caught a lot of 40-pound Humboldt squid. The best fishing was on kelp paddies in the warmer water. "We're testing some new OTR jigs," he continued, "and they got bit." Rothery weighed the contenders on the Fisherman's landing certified scales. Clint Campbell of Bozeman, MT won first place for a 65.95-pound wahoo he caught ona silver and pink Raider jig. He said he used 40-pound P-Line, a Daiwa Saltist 30 reel and a Seeker Black Steel 6470 rod. Jon Collins of Menifee won second place for a 52.6-pound skin that bit a pink Catchy Tackle bomb. Collins brought his son into the photo to show off a big dorado. Randy Walker of Huntington Beach was third, for a 48-pound wahoo that snapped up a gold Raider.

 We have another two day online leaving Saturday June 29th. Come fish in comfort.

We caught 60-100lb Bluefin Tuna along with some school sized Yellow fin and Yellowtail on our father’s day 2 day.

Conditions seem to be improving for Bluefin Tuna fishing within the past couple days. The fish are more willing to bite for those who are willing to put their time in.

40, 50, even 60lb test mono,  floro carbon, with a designer 1/0 hook has been the go to outfit size for the grade of tuna around. However even though the 60-100 lb fish is the main size we have been seeing, the 100-200lb fish are in the area as well.
