toccoa river Fishing Report 2024

We departed today on the Dan Heil Memorial charter with his son Ron Heil as charter head. It's pretty cool to see some of the old faces. Dan's charter has been with me for over 25 years. We were in a panic rush to get out and get to the local fishing grounds before dark. We got about three good hours of fishing and snagged a handful of yellowfin, a bluefin and a beautiful opah. We got a little bit of something throughout the whole day. Everywhere we went we got yellowtail, but no real bug hits. Our morning bite had great quality but not as many as yesterday. Our weather is still good because of the island. Tomorrow we will be in open water on patties looking for dorado, tuna and yellowtail. Great fresh yellowtail and shrimp scampi for dinner. 24 anglers. 23 bluefin tuna from 40-80 lbs. They let their guard down a bit today and the guys took full advantage. Today’s best setup was a 160-200 gram flatfall or a sinker rig fished on 40-60lb.

Hello everyone, Today we spent the day working up towards home. Hitting spot after spot until we finally had a shooter of yellowtail at the last minute. A great flurry of fish to end out our fishing time. The yellows we landed were defiantly large, all between 20 and 30 lbs. We have the boat pointed home at the moment. Hopefully we make good speed! Captain Ryan Bostian checked in with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing out of Mission Bay, CA. We are still trophy fishing! We caught a 132 pound Bluefin Tuna. We had 9 Bluefin Tuna (one at 132, a 101, 7 of them at 75 pounds). We had two over 100 pounds that pulled the hook at color.
Short topshot and flurocarbon is not working. Please have 100 to 200 feet of mono topshot.

Guadalupe is kicking out some real trophies like this 150 LB yellowfin tuna caught by Randy “king” Walker. Right on Randy!

Hello Everyone, Today we had incredible Striped Marlin fishing! Everyone hooked one, and at one point the crew counted 20 marlin hooked up, out of 22 people. Simply wide open. In addition to the Marlin we were able to land a few nice Grouper and Tuna. We will make a move in the night and hopefully be in Tuna and Wahoo Country tomorrow. Will report then, Team Supreme
