Surf City Pier Facebook Fishing Report

so we hit up surf city pier yesterday even with the thundery weather looming. it was super humid but not too bad, just a light breeze. started around 7am, right after sunrise, and I was using my new Shimano spinning reel with a shrimp lure. i caught a couple of nice flounders, like 2-3 lbs each, they were biting near the pilings! felt like a miracle catching those in the stormy weather. my buddy lost a big one right at the edge tho, poor guy was so bummed. ended up hooking a few smaller ones too, but we released those. just watching the clouds roll in made it kinda intense, but all in all a good day! headed home with some fresh fish for dinner. can't wait to go back!
