Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-15-2016 We started off the morning with a few strikes on sonar schools of yellowfin tuna. We thought we were on the right track but things soon slowed down to virtually nothing. A few of the guys were seeing schools up above us, big schools but weren't producing much more then we where. We went and check those out and it looks like there schools of bluefin with a little bit of yellowfin mixed in it of course the bluefin don't bite. We spent part of our morning looking at eight giant kelp patties for two bites on yellowtail which we lost. Right now it's about 2:10 we have 20 yellowfin on board and were wondering where in the heck they're all at. We have good weather and six more hours to look wish us luck. The Polaris supreme crew

Capt Ryan Bostain called in from the San Diego the 3/4 day boat out of Seaforth Sportfishing, he said the last couple days were offshore and the fishing was on the slow side. But the good news is that they are back on the fish today, they just called in and said they have over 100 Yellowfin Tuna on the deck so far. We are fishing in US waters, so if you come down bring your California fishing license with you. We are fishing everyday looking for Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail and Dorado, the boat leaves everyday at 5:30 am and returns at 5 pm. Bring your flyline, popper and jig gear with you and come on out and have some fun.

Another travel day to get to the tuna grounds. Good weather and good food. Fresh tuna steaks with oriental fresh vegetables for lunch and a tasty New York steak for dinner. We are ready to get our lines wet. Wish us luck. By the way, those of you up around Sacramento, go to the boat show and look for Dave Dunham in the Polaris Supreme booth. 38 pass. 16 yellowfin tuna 4 skipjack. Tough day today. There was good fishing in our zone but unfortunately we missed out today. We will try again tomorrow. Come out and be the first person to ever catch a yellowfin tuna on a 3/4 day trip in December.

Hey everybody the voyager has another 1 day shallow water mexican coast trip set up for this saturday. We will be keeping everything under 200 feet! The bass fishing has been very fun in the kelp, along with shallow water reds! And all the other critters to go with them! The live squid has been abundant so we hope to make that to fish with for the trip. The trip is limited load to 16 passengers so act quickly!!! We are already up to 11 as of this morning!! Hey everybody. More of the same today. Lots of sanding and grinding as we prepare for painting next week. The five of us have worked from 0700 hours until 1600 hours for the past two days and the weekend forecast calls for more of the same. No rest for the wicked, I guess. Anyhow, I'll update you all with some photos this weekend and you can see just a glimpse of what we've been up to.

Injury of the day: Boat-work always has a high level of danger involved, especially with being twenty feet in the air, scaffolding surrounding the boat, electrical chords running wild and very dangerous equipment in our hands. It's a very stressful situation and accidents do happen and today, one did. Jed got stung by a bee.
