4 yellowtail and plenty of reds and rockfish. The islands continue to move in the right direction.

The Pacific Voyager just got back into port from a 2 day with a few yellowfin tuna,one bluefin, and albacore. This is shaping up to be an interesting year with the first yellowfin being caught on this short trip. Call Seaforth to make reservations (619) 224-3383

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-12-2016 Good afternoon guys and gals, Polaris Supreme checking in. We arrived to the spot early this morning and the big yellowtail started biting right off the bat! We were catching them on fly line baits and surface irons primarily. It was exciting to watch these fish swim up to the surface irons and bashed them out of the water. At times LB, the charger master's son, could not go two casts without getting followed or bit on the surface iron. We had a steady 2 to 3 fish going, at times more, until about 9am. We were still hooking fish but we got word from one of our code boats that there is some pretty good yellowfin tuna fishing going on within our reach. So we have now decided to go on the hunt for yellowfin tuna. We have good weather for it! Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Hello Everyone, Today we had a great day of fishing on 20-40 lb Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna. With a few 70 lbers mixed in. The style is awesome, long drifts keeping 1-4 going for hours at a time. We are loving the grade of the fish and that they are biting consistently. We are in tomorrow and leave on an 8 day. It will be nice fishing south for a nice change of scenery. Hi friends. It's hot down here -- wicked hot. The bronzing was epic today. Charlie Middleton and Drew even got in on the action. Just kidding, but we did as if they would like to participate in a session with us but they respectfully declined. Bottom line, the weather was excellent today but we could've used about five more knots of wind not only for some circulation but to carry the kite out as well. Anyhow, our fishing was a little on the slow side but it was to be expected with the south swell that rolled through here and threw things off a bit. We trolled up some wahoo today and managed to land a few fish on various artificials and a few on live bait as well. The sign of tuna here wasn't anything to write home about this morning but in the afternoon, we rolled up to a spot of jumpers, kicked the anchor over, and proceeded to hook and land a few in the 40-80 lb. range. We did have our shark casualties today as well but we're hopeful that if we can get a few more fish hooked, we'll keep the sharks spread out and land a few more. We'll see.

Anyways, our plan is to stay here tomorrow and see what the morning brings and we'll base our next decision to stay or go off of that. Wish us luck. Good night.

P.S. Eddie wishes to say hello to Marla. Eddie managed one of those beautiful yellowfin today so he's pumped. He misses you and can't wait to get home and see you.

Sep. 20

11:00 am report. Well we did as planned and found the mega school of awesome grade yellowfin and topped off on those things. If you remember our first days report we had a very good morning on them so we just needed a topper and that's what we did. The way this yellowfin fishing has been in the month of September in the area we fished is that there seems to be one mega school of it. It was as good as it gets. It wasn't long at all before we were straight releasing everything we hooked. Fun fun fun! Well needless to say we're in bluefin/dorado mode the rest of today and tomorrow. We have a mast rotation going and I'm sure the passengers have a nap rotation going. The weather is great and I'll finish my report later in the next paragraph.

It's later. We never found any bluefin or dorado. We had many more stops on mixed grades of yellowfin which all went back in the ocean to live to fight again and make babies and stuff. So we'll spend tomorrow looking for the blue dogs and the super colorful ones and then we'll head for home.

For some reason there is 1 spot available on our Accurate sponsored 8 day trip departing Oct. 12th. Weird but yes, 1 spot still available so get off your butts one of you and let's go fishing. We also need to get some of you to go fishing on our 12 day leaving on Dec. 2nd. That trip is cool because if there is 200 + pound yellowfin at the lower banks you get to fish them for up to 7 days! And if they aren't around there at that time there is still plenty of time to get down below to the Hurricane Bank and catch them down that way too along with the wahoos. So let's go people!

 

Captain Ryan Bostian called in late last night with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in Mission Bay, CA. We caught 97 Yellowtail and 120 Calico Bass today. The majority of the fish were caught on fly-lined baits. We did catch some Yellows on the YoYo too!
Bring a 25 pound live bait stick with mono. We do not recommend spectra and a shot top shot for what we are doing right now. Also 1 and 2 o hooks. For yoyo bring your 40 pound outfit.
