st clair river walleye Fishing Report 2024

Today our 18 anglers bagged up 60 red rockcod 3 lingcod limits of Boccaccio as well as limits of rockfish. After some morning Santa Ana winds, the weather was absolutely gorgeous.

Today we went out with 35 passengers and the yellowtail pulled a no show. The conditions at the Coronado islands were actually nicer today than yesterday. I honestly believe that the yellowtail are still at the islands however we never found them today. We will give it another shot tomorrow. It would be a good idea to start bringing out your bait rods. 25-30 lb. is perfect for live bait fishing.

Today our passengers made it thru the strong south wind, fought off the morning sickness, and were rewarded with 93 yellowfin tuna and 108 skipjack tuna. Our schools would go back and forth from aggressive to line shy. A wise angler would have a variety of line sizes from 20 to 50 lb. small hooks are very important. Size 2 Mustad 94150 or something similar.

Hello Everyone, We just wrapped up our open two day trip. Local fishing has been really tough and was no exception on this trip. We hustled, got the boat ready and departed from San Diego quickly, so we could maximize our fishing time on this two day adventure. Although we got on the grounds very quickly and were fishing fast, it still was tough. There was a lot of searching, scouring, and moving around to try and find some action. Our persistence eventually paid off when we found a couple kelp pattys with some great Yellowtail fishing. It was wall to wall action. Just what the doctor ordered. Everyone had a chance to pull on fish and get introduced to the chaos that is offshore kelp patty fishing. Through the intense action we also managed to land a beautiful Dorado, that would later take jackpot. A very trying couple of days, however we did manage to piece together some great action for our anglers. Looking forward to next year! We depart on our Emerson and friends 5 day next! We have been landing some quality Bluefin Tuna. However they have been making us work for them. 

Brief windows of opportunity’s throughout the day are keeping everyone on their toes. Overall a tough day.

Just got a call from the boat. They have 23 yellowtail on the boat so far.

Well we had good fishing on albacore until about 10am and then headed off to Guadalupe. We traveled in beautiful weather and had a great Mexican fiesta lunch of carne asada, rice, beans, and all the toppings you can imagine. For dinner Pedro served fresh albacore with a curry cilantro sauce, and fresh veggies on the grill. Really tasty.
The guys have been resting up and getting their gear ready for tomorrow. We will be fishing Guadalupe for big yellowfin tuna by daybreak. Wish us luck!

Hello everyone, Today we had our sights set on better grade Yellowtail. We had to do some prospecting and searching around the Baja coast. We managed to tag some great quality Yellows in the mid 20 lb class. Great grade fish but we would have liked more of them. We will be trying again tomorrow up the coast. Wish us luck, Team Supreme
