Hi everyone,

I would like to tell you about a couple of charters I have that are looking to fill a few spots.

(1) May 28-29 2 day trip out of Santa Barbara, looking for 5 people to make 20 for the trip. Hunt for sea bass, halibut, bass and rockfish. contact Alan @ (562) 281-6563

Our fishing took a big step in the right direction today. We landed 9 bluefin from 30 to 140 lbs. very good sign of 25-75 pounders. Come prepared with a variety of line sizes from 25-80 lb.

Hello everyone, Today we spent the day searching for yellowtail along the baja coast. It was very tough. However we did indeed find yellowtail, they were just very difficult to hook. Lots of bird life and scattered fish along the coast even big spots of fish splashing around. In the midst of all this life er only managed to put a handful on the boat. Tough day, hopefully we can get on some tuna tomorrow offshore. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Oct. 9

Today was mostly spent traveling. We did roll by some wahoo country at lunch time and made a couple of passes with the wahoo jigs but we had no strikes. We were expecting that though as there was already a boat there trolling it up all morning. It was something to break up the ride anyways. The weather was good for traveling so we were stoked on that. Other then that it was normal travel day stuff going on. Little nick knack projects for the crew and relaxation for the rest of the guys. The plan for the next couple of days is to travel all day tomorrow and use the remainder of our bait catching bluefin tuna on our last day which is on Friday.

In other news, I haven't posted it on here yet because I guess your not supposed to till the time is right and now the time is right. Since July my wife and I have been pregnant. Well she's been pregnant. I've just been working. Anyways today was the day we found out the species. Or gender rather. That's right, captain Drew is now captain daddy Drew. We're having a beautiful baby girl. That's right, there's three stages in a mans life and I've reached stage three. You believe in Santa Clause, you don't believe in Santa Clause, and now I am Santa Clause and I couldn't be happier about it. Drink it in people, it always goes down smooth.

July 8
    We started this morning off with a bang.  We were up at 0400 hours and loaded up on mackerel, then we went and found a nice school of 20-25 pound fish that bit for us for a little while.  They were biting the surface iron great and I decided this morning that my favorite kind of fishing is surface iron for big yellows.  Big tuna and wahoo are really cool too but man o man is it fun.  My passenger and bud Dennis wasn't hooking any.  He usually does but he had a straight rod the whole drift.  When it slowed down he noticed that his jig had no hook on it.  Through all the excitement he ever noticed until it was done.  I thought that was kind of funny.  Bummer though.  The bite was rather short lived as was expected and after that we did some scouting.  We found a nice school of those 20-25 pounders but it was tough to get them to bite.   Throughout the rest of the day we did some scouting and caught fish and did some scouting and didn't.  We ended up with about a hundred and we're satisfied.

    We're going to stay the night and try this again in the morning.  I'm thinking about fishing offshore for tuna in the afternoon.  We'll see how tomorrow goes.
                                    

 

Well what the heck! I just went to go get some pictures to post on our wrap up of Tom Chaparros six-day trip! Yes that's right it was a six-day trip not a five! And next year it is going to be a seven-day trip! If you care to join Tom and his gang give Susan a call! He limits his trip to only 18 anglers. Anyways I went to go get some pictures out of our files and all we had was pizza! And then I realized the only slow day of fishing we had out of six days was the day we made pizza! Thus the only day we had time to take pictures! We were too busy gaffing 18 to 22 pound average yellowtail and or 15 To 16 pound average yellowfin tuna! Our fishing was absolutely fantastic. The yellowtail fishing was excellent surface iron and fly line sardine as well was the yellowfin tuna fishing. A iron throwers paradise. One thing I should point out about Tom's trip as well as every trip we've had so far this year is that our weather has been absolutely superb! I think maybe we've only had two choppy days in the last 33. Tom Chaparros seven day trip next year 2018 will be departing on Wednesday August 1 and arriving Wednesday, August 8. After getting to see what great fishing we could get into stretching the trip 1 day and seeing some of the other boats on longer trips getting a shot at the Wahoo it got everyone to want to extend the trip. Aug. 29

Here we go again. We arrived early this morning and unloaded a deck full of bluefin and yellowtail, loaded up some sysco, put on a bunch of fuel, then loaded more groceries, put the new peeps on and took off on the glory run. The Gary Roberts 9 day baby. We got a good load of bait and we're headed down. It looks like we're going to pass by where we caught our bluefin last trip after daylight so we'll definitely be looking for those as we roll down. We'd never pass up that kind of fishing but we're not going to give it our all. If we don't see it and the other boats in the area aren't seeing it we're going to keep her rolling on down down down to destinations unknown. Or better yet not decided on. Either my next report will be about us catching bluefin or it will be about our traveling down.

The Scripps Ranch Old Pros offshore charter enjoyed plenty of cold beers and beautiful weather. We were able to land 16 yellowtail and 28 bonito.
