Today was a slow day on the ocean if you were a sport boat. It definitely wasn't a float day. Most of the day for us was spent in fish mode and not catch mode. A lot of hunting with the occasional onesie or twosie on yellowfin jig strikes. We did find one kelp among many that had a good school of a good grade yellowtail on it that wouldn't bite. We caught half a dozen or so but we should of had many many more judging by how many were on it. We also bumped into a school of yellowfin that charged the boat and looked very eager but the darn things wouldn't bite a bait with a hook in it. Not the day for biting fish. Too bad.

 

The weather was for the most part OK. A little windy and choppy in the morning and the same thing in the evening but the stretch in between was nice. We're headed back to the dock and we'll be heading back out tomorrow on a 5 day. I hope things change and guess what? They always do. It's the one thing you can bet on in the fishing world.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-27-2018 The tuna started biting right away this morning! We had three going right off the bat in the gray light. We stayed real consistent all the way until about 11 AM keeping 3 to 5 going most of the time. It slowed the rest of the day but we still continue to pick right into the dark. Most of the fish were around 80 pounds with a few in the 60 pound range. Another great day of fishing! Our weather has been great. And of course were going to do this tomorrow. Wish us luck. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-07-2016 Hi Supreme fans, Well it seem like the bluefin tuna decided to sleep in this morning. But the squid didn't, Before the crack of dawn we had plenty of squid under our lights that we scooped up for our morning bite. But only one lone 25 pound yellowtail took our offerings. Chef Mike called "first call for lunch" and that's all it took for the bluefin tuna to bite! From lunch time until first call for dinner we had steady action of bluefin tuna from 60 to 80 pounds! Once again Gary Jones would battle one for well over 3 hours and defeat a 80 pound bluefin just before we call it a trip. What a way to end a great trip.We turned the boat towards San Diego with a outstanding catch of bluefin tuna chilling in our RSW!! The Supreme Team.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 09-27-2019 AM Gust waiting to get to the fishing grounds! Standing By!

Capt Mike Pritchard on the Tribute calling in a fantastic fishing this morning, we have over 100 Yellowfin Tuna kelp hopping around the temporary pens. We have seen lots of Dorado in the area putting on show jumping, although we haven\'t been able to entice any to bite yet. We still have lots of time to fish today, the fishing has been the best we have seen in years. Now is the time to get out, call the landing to check for available spots on upcoming trip. Captain Mike Pritchard called in from aboard the Tribute to update SportfishingReport.com on it's current trip. We have around 35 Yellowtail and 35 Yellowfin Tuna for the day. We have a very light load today of only 11 anglers. And we have 65+ fish so far. We are still fishing.

The kids are getting picky! Today we spent our day offshore looking for kelps. We had outstanding fishing on the smaller Yellowfin Tuna even though we released most of them. Our main target today was trying to find some Dorado, and a couple kelps had just what we needed. We ended up with with an action-packed day of quality Dorado and small Yellowfin fishing. A great way to end the trip. full of action and a few bigger fish.
