It turned out it was a travel day today. There wasn't any fish in the water we looked at today. On the way down we went through an area in the dark loaded with fin bait so we thought we'd look at it on the way back to see if any game fish found the area but they hadn't. The weather was fantastic today and we got a lot done. All and all we had a great time this trip. Most the passengers on board had never been on a deep sea fishing trip before and they all had a blast pulling on those beautiful yellows at Cedros. Thank you Mr. Tom Pfleger for making this trip possible. We all appreciate you and all our charter heads and all our passengers for that matter.
We're leaving on a 2 day trip tomorrow morning. That trip is designed to fish a full day at 200 miles if need be. If that's where the best fishing was we could get there on a 2 day where on a 1 1/2 trip you'd be limited to within about 110 miles for a full day of fishing. The best fishing is within 100 miles of San Diego so the cool thing about tomorrows trip is we'll have time to fish a handful of hours before dark tomorrow. There is still 2 spots available so let's go fishing!

"Fixed up" is a good expression to describe our day today. We had very good yellowfin tuna fishing. We arrived to our destination shortly after breakfast and after about 1/2 an hour of searching we found what we were looking for. A school of 25-30 pound yellowfin. It bit for a little while before we had to relocate the school, which we did a few times. After that we found a different school of a more mixed grade of 10-30 pounders that we hit a couple times. Then we found a school of mostly 16-22 pounders that we did well off of. I think you get the point. We had a good day. Along with all the tuna we caught, we also managed 7 wahoo and 4 dorado. I'll say it again, we had a good day. We're feeling satisfied. Worth the days travel to get where we've been the last couple days, that's for sure.
The weather today was fantastic. Fan tastic. We'll be traveling tonight and sleeping in tomorrow. We're shooting to be fishing tomorrow afternoon. We'd like to top off on some yellers.

The Tribute out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA checked in with us today.
Very good fishing today on a variety of species, 104 yellowtail, 115 skipjack, 9 yellowfin, and 7 Dorado for our 23 anglers. Looking light throughout next week, book a spot and get in on this fun fall fishing! Little hectic today couldn't get many pictures, but got one good shot of a decent sized Dorado.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-27-2016
Thanks again for checking in. We arrived nice and early to the tuna grounds to get ourselves in the best position for the days work. Shortly after first light we decided where we wanted to get things going. It started off quite slow as the conditions weren't just right. We lacked current which is not favorable to catching fish so it became a little bit of a waiting game. That gave Chef Mike his time to get breakfast out of the way. Not too long after we got mobile and did some looking around and finally started checking out some different schools and began scratching away at a few bluefin. They were in the 18 lb class which is not bad at all. As the day progressed, we found the spot that looked the best and posted up, getting a solid chum line going, got the balloons out and settled in. The fish slowly started popping up with some bluefin in the 70 lb class hitting the deck as well as Marilyn landing her first ever balloon fish and first yellowfin at about 70 lbs. Congrats on that one!! The rest of the afternoon was a steady pick on that beautiful grade of tuna. You couldn't ask for a better way to end a 3 day trip. As soon as we landed our last 2 nice bluefin, one being Theresa's 75 lb "dream fish", it was time to pack it up and head home for San Diego. Us here on the Polaris Supreme would like to say thanks to Charter Head Bev Seltzer and her team of ladies and gentlemen for joining us this year and looking forward to seeing them next year on the 2nd annual Sadie Hawkins 3 day Charter. Our final day went perfectly as planned. We fished a few hours drifting for cod in flat calm weather. Good red and ling cod fishing. We then shot outside and found a couple kelps holding some nice grade yellowtail and a few dorado. We enjoyed a nice easy ride home and spent the rest of the day lounging, cleaning, some read, watched movies and some took naps. We get in tomorrow at 7:30, unload, load and the big guy takes her back out for 4 days. We're out. Stay classy San Diego
