Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-22-2016 Good morning everyone from the bridge of the Polaris Supreme. We are certainly holding our heads high after yesterday's action. With a little bit of a scratchy couple of days prior, the switch turned on and it was nothing short of a day that everyone hopes for. The morning pick was nothing to complain about, but right at lunch time, the galley was a ghost town. It was all hands on deck. The grade of fish was a touch on the smaller side to start with some bonito mixed in, but we stayed persistent and fished off the junk. As the afternoon transpired, the size of the yellows just kept getting bigger and bigger. It was a picture perfect yellow bite. Breaking fish, breezers, shiners....surface iron, yo-yo, fly line, dropper loop. We just couldn't miss. Just shows the reward comes when you stick with it and fish hard. The grade of fish was a 15-20 lb average with a handful of stand out 30+ pounders. All and all it was an amazing day out here. We're off to a little bit of a slow start this morning, so we'll just patiently wait til they decide to wake up and get on the chew. Ryan Bostian called in from the San Diego with this report, "As it stands right now we are only about 30 miles from homw and we have about 150 Yellowtail on the boat, 6 Bluefin tuna & 6 or 7 Dorado. We've had good fishing here this morning. We offer these trips every day. If you'd like to join us call Seaforth Sportfishing at 619-224-3383."

Strictly a couple of travel days for us on these dates. That's three in a row now. 1 1/2 days of that in good weather and the other 1 1/2 days in choppy weather. The boats cleaned inside and out now. The rails have been oiled. Now we wait and do things like we do on these days. You should know the travel day drill by now.
So anyway, we're fat, happy and lazy but we need to snap out of it now because tomorrow we're going to do some fishing. We'll be looking for a dorado kelp tomorrow. We should only need one dorado kelp to get what we need so hopefully we can get it done. We'll find out shortly. the weather should be nice tomorrow which will make the kelp easier to find.

Oct. 17th
We had some good yellowtail fishing today. It took a little while to get going this morning but we had a couple hours of good tailing before it shut off before lunch like its been doing in the zone we were in. After things shut off we made a 4 hour move and had some good fishing again for about an hour before dark. The weather once again was great and we're currently traveling north to look for the bluefin tomorrow. Things have slowed down tremendously up there lately but we're going to look in some newer grounds where we see some good looking water on our sea surface temp charts. There will be a few of us spread out looking tomorrow so hopefully between the three of us we can get something located.
I told Mark today I didn't think he could go one hour without talking. He didn't think so either but he tried and was surprisingly successful. He can not talk for one hour. I think he might die if he tried to do it all day though so I'm not going to challenge him to that.

The Pacifica out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA checked in with limits of Yellowfin Tuna (110) and two nice Bluefin to on their Overnight trip with 22 anglers.
