san jose Fishing Report 2024

Fishing today was absolutely fantastic. The morning started out slow. We were scratching on the anchor. We thought we were in for another slow day. But we made a move to a new area and had some phenomenal fishing on some nice grade yellowtail. Beautiful average of about 22 lbs or so. We were fishing with a porpoise school and sharks.

Lots of surface iron. Lots of action. Weather is good. Nice and sunny in the afternoon. Tomorrow we'll be be looking for some cow yellowtail.

Happy independence day! guys! We finished our day yesterday by continuing to pick away at those larger size yellowtail. Almost all of our anglers ended up with at least one yellowtail and we even had a hand-full of anglers who managed to catch their limit of those larger sized fish. As I'm writing this report, I am seeing quite a few small schools of yellows on the sonar. We are eager to find out what today has in stock for us! Happy Independence Day, Team Supreme

Hi Every one.
We got out with out a hitch today on our Private charter with George and the Boys. The gang includes George, Bernie, Craig, Scott,  Bryan Charlie, Jeremy, And Daniel. Our Bait is just ok  scaby and big. I am sure we will lose at least 20% before we get into 82 degree water, then who knows what will happen. Weather is Beautiful calm seas and a gorgeous sun set. We are going to go dine on prime rib stake fillets and look for squid for bait from midnight 30 till late morning wish us luck!

Hello Everyone, Today was a great day on the tuna grounds. We had an un-real sun downer bite on Bluefin Tuna in the 40 lb range. Complete chaos, an absolute ripper on fly lined sardine, until the sun went down. Once darkness settled in, it turned into a Flat fall ripper. Landing the Tuna on the jigs was was much nicer on the heavy gear. In addition to the Bluefin we landed 2 50 lb Yellowfin Tuna. Great grade fish. Excellent day on an excellent charter. Captain Ryan Bostian called in this morning with an update form the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. The boat is out today we haven’t heard from them yet. We caught 4 Bluefin Tuna over 100 pounds. This is once in a lifetime opportunity. We only have a handful of reservations for tomorrow. We are a definite go! Please be sure to be prepared with a heavy rod. We recommend at least a 50 pound outfit. You can also bring a lighter outfit for the Yellowtail. Listen to the audio for all tackle details. We had a great day fishing open water on the yellowtail up to 25 lbs, and dorado up to 20 lbs. Our weather is excellent. It couldn't be any better. Today was just a fantastic day.

Funny. Right around this time every year I get an itching to fish the Coronados for big island yellows, and when I get an itch I scratch it! Captain Ryan Bostian skippers the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing running to the Coronados everyday, so nobody knows the islands better or fishes its waters more. Itchin' for some fishin' and with friday off I headed down to San Diego and jumped on board with 28 other anglers for a scheduled full day trip to the islands. We were at the Islands and fishing within two hours and it didn't take long before we were hanging and catching some quality fish. Huge bonito, nice calicos and barracuda paced the early action as Captain Ryan moved the San Diego from spot to spot looking for steady action and the elusive island yellows. We found good action throughout the day and starting hanging some yellows as well. Keith Hayashi landed the first yellow of the day on a sardine and we spent the rest of the afternoon picking off nice yellows on both bait and the iron. Big mean mossbacks in the 14 to 23 pound class. Nice fish !!! We ended the day with 9 yellows, 12 calicos, 19 barracuda and 44 bonito. Really nice day of surface fishing for everybody on board. The San Diego leaves every morning at 5:30 out of Seaforth Landing fishing the Coronado Islands. Captain Ryan and his crew will provide you with you're best opportunity to fish the pristine waters around the islands and possibly catch one of the nice mossbacks like we did today. The guys are out at the islands with just 11 anglers this morning. They have 30+ yellowtail so far with lots of fishing time left. Capt Matt suggests a 20 or 25 lb bait rod a 40 lb yo-yo rod and your favorite jigstick and bass rod.
