Pere Marquette River Fishing Report

yesterday i hit the river again, overcast all day. caught a couple of trout on a worm. only small ones but the weather was nice for fishing. the chills were there but the fish seemed active. hopefully it warms up soon, i want to get some big ones!

had a great time fishing on may 19, caught a bunch of smallmouth bass, nothing huge but fun to reel in! it was partly cloudy and the temp was decent. i used a topwater bait, they just couldn’t resist. gotta love those evening bites!

went out on the 7th, still overcast and windy, but I caught 2 smaller steelhead on some pink yarn. they were feisty at least. the river’s flowing nice and fast, so had to be careful wading. not a bad trip overall, looking forward to better weather!

fished on may 6, not too much action but I did get one decent salmon, about 6 lbs. the water was cold but using streamers helped, especially black ones. the wind picked up towards the afternoon, but managed to get some casting in before it got too wild!

had a decent day on may 4th at pere marquette, caught 2 nice browns, one was a hefty 4lbs! i was using a jig, chartreuse color, same as always. the overcast helped i think, they were biting better than last week. was super fun to get out there again.
