pensacola pier Fishing Report 2025

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA. Today we had 36 anglers catch 61 Yellowtail and 69 Barracuda. We had excellent action today.

Sep. 16

Today was a bust for us in the yellowtail grounds. We arrived pre daylight and Tommy stopped on some yellows so we fished it in the dark and fished it in the light for nothing. We looked around after that and all the key ingredients were there. Bait life, bird life, and schools of yellowtails were all around but it wouldn't go. Just a handful of bites. After giving it a few hours to get with it for not a whole lot we decided not to hang out and burn a day doing it. We're on the move to the wahoo grounds. We're ready for them too. We did the wahoo seminar and everyone spent the afternoon rigging up wire leaders for the toothy fish. We'll be where we'll be at or soon after daylight and we're hoping for some wahoo action. If not wahoo let's hope we can get some action on the tuna,pargo and yellowtails. Let's also hope for low wind velocity. It was getting pretty windy this afternoon and it's currently traveling faster down then we are.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-31-2016 We were all over the place yesterday we started off in the morning fishing yellowtail at one island with massive spots of bait and birds that were sitting on the water doing nothing with no signs of yellowtail. That didn't last long before we moved to another island for similar results basically no catching. After that we took off offshore and had a little bit of success on kelp's with Dorado and Yellowtail and that wound up our day! Throughout the day of we obviously had in mind catching yellowtail at one of the locations we frequented but in the back of our mind was our destination for tomorrow the local yellowtail kelp patty fishing grounds where the guys are just sleighing them! We got some beautiful weather and will be there tomorrow wish us luck. The Polaris supreme crew

07-13-2013 Polaris Supreme Trip Update.

Wow What a great trip Drew and the boys had with Joe and Mal's gang. Good going guys! That was one of the most impresive catches of 40 to 50 pound Bluefin I have seen in a while. Oh ya thanks a lot for putting the pressure on us to produce more of the same for Billy Stephens Group. Just kidding we are looking forward to the challenge. The reports from the four boats in our group that fished the morning sounded just like the schoole Drew and the gang left bitting. It was full speed all morning. I don't think any of us are going to sleep well tonight. May be if we count Bluefin coming over the rail thet will help, or not. Going down for prime rib. sea ya tomorrow.

25 pass. 17 bluefin 16 yellowfin. Most bluefin were 30-50lbs. The savvy angler would bring a 20lb rod and a 30-40lb rod with assortment of hooks from size 4-2/0. We are very light on reservations all next week. Call 619-224-3383 and make those resos. Bluefin is way better than turkey for Thanksgiving.

We are continuing to see impressive schools. It seems everyday we are getting better responses out of them. Our last trip we had a good opportunity on the 60-90 pound fish, keeping 1 to 5 fish hooked for the better part of 4 hours. Getting a bite wasn’t the hard part but because we were forced to use our “finesse” gear we had to work very hard to land them. Hopefully the trend continues ! 

Thanks for the amazing response to the OPEN Shimano Charters we scheduled for the Channel Islands this spring. The response was so positive that I spoke with the folks at Shimano and they agreed to put another trip on line. This one will be set for fishing on March 13. That would be departing at 9pm on the night of the 12th. This trip will be just like the others. Shimano will provide a bunch of outfits for fishing butterfly and lucanus systems. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-23-2016 Just a quick shout out to our jackpot winners from the Paul Hess trip. In the dual picture on the left is Joe with a 29.6 pound yellowtail on the right is Ryan first Place with a 34.8 pound yellowtail in the single picture is of Mary with her 33.2 pound yellowtail. Congratulations on the nice fish and sorry it took so late to get them up posted we been really busy looking for more fish and catching fish. The Polaris Supreme Crew !
