Good afternoon. Boatwork is progressing nicely. Wrenches have been thrown, flashlights have been chucked, and the curse words have been flowing like the beer flows like wine in a little place called Assssssspppen. I personally have never heard quite so many variations of the F word in my short life. That's boatwork, though. It's like beating your head against a wall for a... month but somehow, after you think that you can't take anymore of a bashing, a beautiful new wall comes about and we're happy again. Yay!

Sorry for the rant but we're in the middle of repainting the generators and main engines and that isn't an easy task. A lot of prep work and scrubbing crud with a toothbrush, literally, but if they come out as good as Jed's compressors and motors came out, we are going to have the prettiest engine room in the fleet.

With our Coast Guard inspection on Friday, we decided to bring the reinforcements in and his name is Mark. I snapped a really awesome photo of Mark on a short break that I can't wait to share. It's like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and this particular photo says it all without saying a word. I promise, I'll get those photos up soon.

Anyhow, I don't mean to vent but I truly wanted to give everyone a glimpse into what goes into maintaining a vessel such as the Polaris Supreme. A lot of blood, sweat, tears (we cry tears of joy at days end), and curse words go into loving our beloved boat but we truly do love her because she loves us when we show her love. Let me tell you, we are showing her a lot of love and it's on the inside, and that's true love - it runs deeper than the eye can see.

Bye now. Keep on the watch for some photos.

November 18, 2024 pacifica Fishing Report

I had such a great time fishing with Captain Ryan Bostian and his crew aboard the San Diego that I couldn't resist jumping aboard again for another shot at some of those big Coronado Island yellows. There are big schools of yellowtail roaming the Coronado Islands and recent fish counts have been ranging anywhere from just a few fish to 70-80 fish per trip. No sense trying to figure it out. Pick a day and go !!! Captain Bostian and the San Diego fish the Coronado Islands everyday, so nobody knows them better or fishes them harder than the Captain and his crew. We looked for and caught a few barracuda along the coast as we made our way down to the Coronados. We worked several areas of both islands looking for a school of yellows that wanted to stay with the boat. We saw plenty of action around the boat and would hook one or two yellows at each spot, but we could never get them to bite aggresively. We landed 10-11 nice yellows highlighted by Aiyana Schwartz's huge jackpot yellow that she hooked on a dropper looped sardine. All in all a great day on the water with an excellent chance at catching a trophy fish. The Coronado Islands are about to break wide open and Captain Bostian and the crew aboard the San Diego will be there. Call Seaforth Landing at 1-619-224-3383 to make a reservation and make sure they are not chartered. The San Diego leaves everyday at 5:30 am. Till next time. Thats' the word on the water. Don. Thursday, July 4th, 2013

Good evening, fellow patriots and happy 4th of July. We will never forget what this holiday means to us on the Polaris Supreme and although we aren't celebrating with fireworks, barbecues, and adult beverages, we here on THE Supreme Team will never forget what this day means to us. It's the day that we defeated the aliens. We will never forget what Bill Pullman, Randy Quaid, Jeff Goldblum and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air did for not only the country of 'Merica but also what they did for the entire world. Welcome to Earth!

How did we spend our Independence Day? Well, for me personally, I had Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" stuck in my head, I nearly froze my bronze off (we on the Supreme call this particular event "fronzing"), I drank two cups of "The Weasel" coffee (thanks RK), and I also managed to gaff Yellowtail, de-hook Calico Bass, and shake mackerel, sardines, and lizardfish into our bait wells. As for our fishing day, it was a little on the scratchy side but we managed to make a day of it multiple coastal species. The trophy of the day goes to Richard "Raider Nation" Miller who landed what looks to be a 50 lb. White Seabass on a dropper loop. He's pumped. Him and Mark think that Raiders are going to be really good this season. We just laugh and pat them on the head and say "we're sure that they will be, son".

Anyhow, we're currently (02:15 hours of the 5th of July) en route to our next bait-making/Yellowtail area and we'll see what we can't gather up for the morning. Depending on what we do, we'll either stay and get nasty or we'll book it for greener offshore pastures. We'll see what happens and we'll report our activities tomorrow. Our weather is just fine and the passengers are all stuffed on Chef Schoolers' Shrimp/Scallop pasta dinner. Heck, Mark even decorated the cheesecake with a 4th of July flair. Impressive for a hillbilly, I know! Good job, Mark. Now stock that beer/pop cooler.

So that is all. We'll hit y'all up manana. Oh yeah, before I go. We'd like to thank our good friend and by far our most handsome and ripped relief team member Joey Freeman for calling us and giving us the Alaska Net Satellite number to the vessel Northwestern. You really screwed up with that one, Joey. Don't think for once second that Drew isn't going to get off this boat in August and drunk dial Sig. Good chatting with you anyways, bud.

Take care, everyone. Be safe and don't do anything that Mark wouldn't do on this glorious holiday. Happy Independence Day from Riddler, Dirty, Zeb, Guns, Hard Hat Boy, Shabba, and myself.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay.  We have been fishing offshore still.  We have had a lot of ups and downs.  We are seeing schools of Bluefin Tuna of various sizes.

We recommend a 20 pound outfit with 1 or 2 size live bait hooks with a fluorocarbon leader.  Bring a heavy rig to fish the big ones.

We had jumbos today 55 Pound Yellowfin 125 Bluefin Tuna 177 Bluefin Tuna

Excellent sign of fish around come on out and fish on the San Diego.

33 Yellowfin and 3 Bluefin for our 26 Angler’s today. Lots of action from 1100 on, but these bigger Yellowfin did their fair share of damage to the lighter gear.
