oregon inlet bridge Fishing Report 2025

We have to fill this Oct 5-day. All season long I here everyone asking how they can get on one of our 10 passenger Guadelupe trips. Well here it is. I have 2 spots open on what is really a 5.5 day trip to Guadelupe with only 10 people on the Apollo. The trip departs on the morning of Oct 1rst at 9am. and returns mid morning on the 6th. $1800 covers all meals and permits. This trip is a charter and if you are a part of it now chances are you'll be invited on many other trips with this group in the future. Today we loaded up for our annual AHI charter. We are headed south with Wahoo and Tuna in our sights. Tomorrow will be a rigging day.

We fished this morning without much luck. The one that we did hook the shark ate. So this will be another chapter for Bob Vance in his charter diary. Everybody had a great time and we look forward to seeing them all back again next year for Bob's annual trip. We will be in to the dock at 5:30am. We depart on Garry Roberts 9-day tomorrow morning. Myself as well as the crew are anxious to get down to Alijos. The fishing reports have been really good and we are looking forward to having our own great reports. Good Evening everyone, Today we woke up anchored in the yellowtail grounds. Things started off slow with a couple fish being brought in on the dropper loop and yo yo iron. Most of the fish caught in the morning were nice sized yellowtail in the 20-30lb range with a couple of really nice sheep head and assorted rock fish in the mix. As the morning went on, the yellows moved up in the water column and started to bite the fly lined sardine and the surface iron. The fish were coming around in flurries with a handful of anglers hooking up at a time. We picked at the yellows for a couple of hours before making a short move. We started off catching some smaller grade yellows before the big ones moved in. Before long the fish started boiling around the boat, and started to bite. We continued to put fish on the boat all afternoon into the evening before the bite slowed down. Most of the guys had success on fly lined sardines with 30 or 40 lb test and a 1/0 or 2/0 hook. When the bite had stopped we sat on the anchor for the night and enjoyed a nice dinner courtesy of chef Mike. We will be fishing the same area tomorrow, and will be hoping for a similar outcome as today before trying our luck for the yellowfin once again. Will report tomorrow, Team Supreme

Aug. 21
    Judging by how our trip has been so far, if you would have told me we would have 6 bluefin as of 1:00 this afternoon I wouldn't have believed you.  But sure enough, those darn bluefins were laughing at us.  We saw plenty of them but they didn't give two you know whats about us.  Our buddy Brian on the Spirit Of Adventure called us and told us he was seeing the 30-50 pound grade around where he was so we took a little ride down there.  It wasn't really biting that well until we got there.  Again our timing is on.  For the next few hours it was game on.  It actually took a while to get them to bite but during the best of it I couldn't get the balloon rigs out fast enough.  They were snapping!!  We ended up with a couple rounds of the 30-50 pounders with one going around 90 pounds and we also got a handful of 30-35 pound yellowfin there as well.  

    After it dried up we went looking for another.  We found several schools but none that would hang around and bite our baits.  Around 6:30 we bumped into another school that stuck and we picked up 21 more of those beauts.  And now we drift and do it again tomorrow.  

    The chefs are getting better and better at there sushi spread.  This afternoon it was terrific and I'm pretty sure I heard it's veal chops for dinner tonight.  Sweet dreams.

Good evening, fellow patriots and happy 4th of July. We will never forget what this holiday means to us on the Polaris Supreme and although we aren't celebrating with fireworks, barbecues, and adult beverages, we here on THE Supreme Team will never forget what this day means to us. It's the day that we defeated the aliens. We will never forget what Bill Pullman, Randy Quaid, Jeff Goldblum and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air did for not only the country of 'Merica but also what they did for the entire world. Welcome to Earth!

How did we spend our Independence Day? Well, for me personally, I had Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" stuck in my head, I nearly froze my bronze off (we on the Supreme call this particular event "fronzing"), I drank two cups of "The Weasel" coffee (thanks RK), and I also managed to gaff Yellowtail, de-hook Calico Bass, and shake mackerel, sardines, and lizardfish into our bait wells. As for our fishing day, it was a little on the scratchy side but we managed to make a day of it multiple coastal species. The trophy of the day goes to Richard "Raider Nation" Miller who landed what looks to be a 50 lb. White Seabass on a dropper loop. He's pumped. Him and Mark think that Raiders are going to be really good this season. We just laugh and pat them on the head and say "we're sure that they will be, son".

Anyhow, we're currently (02:15 hours of the 5th of July) en route to our next bait-making/Yellowtail area and we'll see what we can't gather up for the morning. Depending on what we do, we'll either stay and get nasty or we'll book it for greener offshore pastures. We'll see what happens and we'll report our activities tomorrow. Our weather is just fine and the passengers are all stuffed on Chef Schoolers' Shrimp/Scallop pasta dinner. Heck, Mark even decorated the cheesecake with a 4th of July flair. Impressive for a hillbilly, I know! Good job, Mark. Now stock that beer/pop cooler.

So that is all. We'll hit y'all up manana. Oh yeah, before I go. We'd like to thank our good friend and by far our most handsome and ripped relief team member Joey Freeman for calling us and giving us the Alaska Net Satellite number to the vessel Northwestern. You really screwed up with that one, Joey. Don't think for once second that Drew isn't going to get off this boat in August and drunk dial Sig. Good chatting with you anyways, bud.

Hello everyone We just wrapped up another successful Simpatico five day charter put on by Vernon Burke. A great group of anglers who know how to fish hard and have fun on their five days of fishing vacation! It was a great trip this five day, we committed to big fish as opposed to big numbers. Some nice bluefin in the 60-90 lb class, the fish that were caught were the biggest these gentlemen have ever caught in their lives. The triumphs and defeats were spread pretty evenly but everyone had their chance at several quality Blufin of a lifetime! 27 pass. 3 bluefin tuna at 135 lbs, 132 lbs and 80 lbs. 2 yellowtail. Had a couple shots at trophy’s. Sinker rigs on 50 lb with a 6 oz torpedo and 150-250 gram Flatfalls on 50 or 60 lb was the best today. A 40 lb flyline outfit is also recommended. Two speed reels that are at least a 12 size will increase your chances drastically. Seaforth Sportfishing has two speed reels for rent.
